Favorite player on the Indians, that actually sucked?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Casey Blake was one of those players that everyone thought was a AAAA player at the time he was on the Indians, then he put a couple of good seasons together in a row, and was clearly a quality MLB player. Respect for him always seemed to trail his production. I include myself in the group that didn't grant him proper respect until after he was traded for Santana. Funny enough, for my experience, feels like almost like the opposite of what this thread represents :)
Actually in hindsight, most of my dislike for Casey Blake had little to do with the player himself, but almost entirely how Eric Wedge would use him.

Blake was one of Wedge’s favorite players so it seemed like he always had a crazy long leash, and he would bat something like sixth in the lineup, which usually wasn’t warranted.

Just remembered the late 2000’s/early 2010s cast of all star outfielders including Jason Michaels, David Delucci, Trevor Crowe (picked instead of Jacoby Ellsbury), Shelley Duncan, Aaron Cunningham, Ryan Rayburn and Johnny Damon.

Tomlin actually was good when he was healthy, so I dont think he counts as much towards this as much towards this thread
He counts. He beloved for his scrappiness and 2016 playoff run.

He was mostly mediocre to bad besides that.

If Mar is willing to admit he counts (had to be tough for him), he counts.

He was an above average hitter, but not a star. 6th seems about right if you have a strong lineup around him.

He might be the opposite of someone meant for this thread.

He was irrationally hated by many despite being solid to good.

He had a walkoff early in his career and I remember the guy behind me yelling "we got a good one boys!"
That reminds me of a conversation I overheard at the gym when we traded him and Cliff Lee. “We gave up this young great power hitter.” He was like 28 when we traded him. Pretty old for someone getting a shot in the majors.

I also (at the time) thought we weren’t giving Andy Marte enough of a chance. Woof. RIP.

Shelley fucking Duncan. But not as big of a fan of this one dude that I encountered at a game. Whenever Duncan appeared, he would just yell “SHELLEY” uncontrollably. That was awesome.

My sons would call him Smelly Pumpkin.

No votes for Lonnie Chisenhall? I'm not sure I really want to nominate him but he was a pretty polarizing guy. From his 3rd base bungles to moving to the outfield and the injuries and inconsistent bat. Heck, maybe I do want to nominate him.

He didn't suck though, he was just always hurt. I felt like that mattered for this thread. He turned into a really good hitter and solid outfielder before injuries cut his career short.

I was on the fence with that one for sure.

His 2017 and 2018 numbers were very impressive. Unfortunately only 111 total games
