My favorite thing on the Mabels' menu is the JW potatoes. Basically round yukon gold potatoes that are halved and deep fried with a sherry vinegar. So good.
I'm a bit of a bbq snob because I lived in Texas for a few years. Mabel's is definitely the best I've had in Ohio and I echo that I love Symon's unique spins to make it its own style. A close 2nd is Ray Ray's down in Columbus. Totally different style- much more saucy- but super good brisket. Proper Pig in Lakewood looks the part but falls short in flavor, in my opinion. I need to try some of the other places but their photos don't inspire a ton of confidence.
