Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Honestly, if I did that at my job.. They would be like "Connor WTF are you doing here?"

The comment near the top there by Ryguy, joking about Colin Cowherd saying as such takes the cheesecake.

Serious question:

Baker or Kyler Murray for the next 10 years?
I'm with @Ohio but if you make me answer right now,... and the question is, starting a franchise from scratch, which player would I rather have? (And not just judging their success over their career or anything like that), I'm going Kyler Murray simply because I think that, despite Lamar Jackson's MVP season, the NFL still undervalues and underutilizes the effectiveness of running from the QB position.

If I'm picking a QB for a specific scheme, or for most teams in the NFL with vanilla, old-school coaching, I'm going Baker because I think he's a better passer.

I watch both almost equally. Kyler Murray and twice on Sunday. Should be an unquestioned game changer. Cards line is brutally bad though, doing him no favors.

This. As of now, with the way the nickel is becoming the standard package, if everyone is covered, having a QB who can rip a 26 yard run on 3rd and 8 is more than just handy, it looks like it could be a trend that isn’t trendy.
That said, Mayfield did break the rookie TD record. It’s a very real possibility that he comes back on a mission.
If he is Professor X cerebral, then that might matter more in the AFC championship game this year, whereas it could be harder for Murray and Jackson to adjust to small windows, as Jackson has found out two years in a row.
I hope I am wrong. Totally happy w Baker so far, but in this league, he better light it up this year. I think he will.
