2020 NFL OFF-SEASON THREAD

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just for some context on this, Stanford changed their mascot to the Cardinal and a Sequoia tree in 1975 in an early response to recognizing an issue with their mascot. The Tribe began pulling Chief Wahoo off merchandise two years ago. If Dan Snyder didn't come up with a contingency plan, that is a clear reflection of his ability to do business.

I'd like to also point out that if Snyder were forced out of ownership much like Donald Sterling was removed from the Clippers, literally nobody would be upset. DC fans hate him, media hates him, players hate him, other owners hate him. I'm pulling for a forceful sale.

Literally the first thing I did when I heard the news about Washington's team, I texted my buddy, who is a lifelong DC sports fan, for his thoughts. The first sentence of his reply was, "I hope they make Snyder sell the team."

I’m not sure what everyone expected with Washington. The season is set to start in less than two months (hopefully) and a brand new team name/logo/uniform campaign is a massive undertaking. They even say in the article that this is for this season while they finalize a new team name/logo. Rolling it out for 2020 would’ve been half assed.

idk, Adams is insanely good so i expected he price to be steep; the price was steep but so was the return. I honestly like it for both sides since Seattle doesn’t give a shit about firsts; New York might come out the loser because they could just fuck up the picks and continue to be the Jets.

As far as straight value I think it’s good for both sides.

I'm happy with it, he's a unique player but an absolute stud. McDougald looked close to being done last season. First rounders recently have been crap from a Seahawks perspective, even back in the legion of boom era most of the really good players were drafted a lot later than first round

Really good secondary if Dunbar is allowed to play next season, which is unlikely
CB: Shaq Griffin
CB: Quinton Dunbar (probably Flowers who's bleh)
FS: Quandre Diggs
SS: Jamal Adams

Are we seeing the devaluation of First Round picks because of an expected inability to scout players, who by the time they enter the NFL next year will have gone almost two years without any game action?

Or is this just an overpay for a safety nearing his contract extension?

Time will tell.

In the case of Seattle, I’d say poor drafting and poor scouting. Trade 2 years of a gamble, for a sure thing (barring injury) with potential HOF ability. Not to mention, it fills a big void on their D.
I’m not in-tune with the Cap situation there, but they may look to add offensive pieces through FA in the coming years.
