New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nice, that is awesome that your kid loves Transformers.

I still look with envy at Fortress Maximus or a working Shockwave. I had Scorpinok, got him in comic book trade.

I may have to breakdown and get them.

I am also glad that the Bay Transformers films are dead.

The new reboot, as evidenced by Bumblebee, is what we've been waiting for.

Shockwave was badass. I had the opportunity to play w/ a lot of them. Neighbors, day care kids, etc. Transformers was like THE thing to do.

Totally agree, the latest Bumblebee movie was actually quite enjoyable. I thought the first and maybe second Michael Bay ones were OK. I marked out and all, but I like the spirit of the Bumblebee movie. That, and how do you kill Jazz like that? So disrespectful. LOL.

And Iron Hide in Dark of the Moon.

I suppose it was better than being brutally executed by Megatron in that shuttle.

Such heroic nonsense.

I had quite a few Masters of the Universe figures mainly because they were cheaper then Transformers, but the Transformers I had always ended up being the ones I gravitated to. Didn’t own too many Generation 1 since we could afford them at the time, but the ones I did have tended to be the one I gravitated to. By far, the most expensive one I had was Jet-fire, which was funny because technically the “Transformer” Jet-fire was actually, I believe, a Robotech figure that was repackaged as Jetfire and he looked nothing like the character on the cartoon. I was thrilled to see Jetfire have a prime roll on the Netflix miniseries.

I usually got stuck owning the smaller gobot size transformers like Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. The only other decent figures that I had were 2 of the dinobots, Grimlock and Sludge, Grimlock is still one of my favorite characters.

The only character from the movie, I actually got before the movie came to theatres, happened to be Kup, whichI ended up thrilled that he had a huge roll in the movie. Still love that character, as the old vet.

I did not have as many as I would have liked, my parents did not have a lot of money and they never bothered to listen to me when I said I was done with He-Man and only wanted transformers.

But, they did finally come through for Christmas 1986 when they got me Blitzwing and Astrotrain.

I was super thrilled. The triple-changers were the coolest thing and actually really well-built. Astrotrain had a cast steel train body.

And they were featured a lot in the second season of the show. They are still two of my favorites.

I got Blurr for my birthday the next year, but I feel like that the characters introduced in the Movie, aside from Galvatron and Ultra Magnus were kind of lame.

And let’s not forget how they did Rachet in that last movie, melting him down to build deceptions.

And Iron Hide in Dark of the Moon.

Me Grimlock!

Dinobots rocked. :)

I always wish I had Jetfire (Skyfire). Too expensive for my parents.

Transformers really were the top toys of the decade. One for every price point and each box was simply glorious. Amazing graphics, tech specs and mural art. Just a fine, fine toy.

---------------------------

Kup had two of the best lines in the movie.

Grimlock: "Tell us war story!"
Kup: "You're living one now!"

Hot Rod [Sees Unicron standing on Cybertron]: "Doesn't this remind you of something?"
Kup: "Nope. Never seen anything like this before."

That movie was awful.

But yeah, that was rough.

Nearly as visceral as seeing the life leave Prowl's eyes:

My mom Actually got it for my birthday. Up until that point, all the cool Transformers I played with belonged to my neighbors. They had Optimus, Megatron, iron hide. Etc. I felt like king shit the day I got that die cast jet.

Prowl went out much better in Transformers: the animated series. I watched it with my oldest son when he was around 4 or 5. Very under-rated animated series. It was a vastly different origin then the original but was very entertaining. Old characters in different roles throughout the series. Jazz showed up later in the series. Both he and Prowl were basically Ninjas. It was more geared towards kids but near the end there was actual deaths.

That movie was awful.

Just a reminder that Beast Wars followed by Beast Machines were a classic and added a great twist to the lore.

I played with two G1 mini vehicles for hours on end; a yellow Bumblebee and red Cliffjumper

My older brother wouldn't let me play with his Silverbolt or Blaster:

The little Z Bots were an underrated miniature collectible/small play figure during my childhood years. Things are still packed away in a closet but I’m tempted to dig them out at some point.

Was getting wine drunk last night with the girlfriend and she wanted to watch something funny and dumb. She had never seen What We Do in the Shadows, so I put on the Jackie Daytona episode. Instantly made her a fan of the show. That episode is a masterpiece.
