The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Here’s a Cardinals perspective on Lindor.
Cards fans, especially in the comments section, but not limited.. are overvaluing their own (deJong?) while demeaning Lindor.. Just crazy stupid things like: "...deJong is worth more in trade than Lindor..." A deal for Lindor at the deadline is unlikely/not happening..

I simply don’t see Lindor moving this season due to this team’s record. In a shortened season the Tribe has as good as chance as any to win a WS. Pitching alone makes them a terrifying team to play.

Indians are bare minimum is looking at the Sonny Gray trade. I dont see why a non-contender would even think of making a trade like that, and trading a legit SP to another contender, does that really help our chances of winning? We almost are designated to take the best national league offer and go with it. I dont like limiting our options. I think just keeping Clev and using extra prospects to get an additional bat may be the best route to take
sportscoach - it's almost as if a trade would weigh postseason vs. regular season. What I mean is that a trade for bats makes us a better team overall. Regular season. But then again I'd much rather have Clevinger start a game 2 of a playoff vs. a lineup like the Yankees, Twins, A's, Astros etc etc.

So starting pitching so important in playoffs. Yet a trade would likely be more helpful in the long term assuming it's a good trade.

Which is the reasoning also to NOT trade Clevinger. Their starters give them a puncher's chance.

If he’s worth more, why trade him ? lol

Elite pitching gives you much more than a punchers chance. Elite pitching is the name of the game. Hitting gives you a punchers chance, unless you have strong pitching to go with it.

The Cards article was fun to read, but its the same old same old. We want to trade for one of the best players on the planet, but our best prospect is off the table.

The Indians are not only in playoff contention, they have a good chance of being one of the top seeds. The FO isn't in trade today for tomorrow mode. Any trade made this week will have at least one eye on 2020...just as it was before last years trade deadline.

Heyman is reporting non news...lol.

Breaking news!

Chris Antonetti answered his phone today.

I agree, at this point in the year the Indians are playing as one of the top teams in the AL and that is with horrible production from hitters 6-9 and losing our 2nd and 4th best pitcher for 2 starts because they were idiots. If we start to see any production from the back of the lineup and Lindor keeps getting back on track, we have an average lineup with an above average 1-5 hitters, with a top 3 pitching staff and bullpen.
With how the playoffs are set up, 3,5,7,7. I like our depth at pitching to help get through the first 2 rounds. Depending on any moves we make we can get buy with a 3 man rotation with maybe one start with a 4 in the first 2 rounds. That’s huge advantage for us.
