Half way pole and it looks like MLB will finish the season.

Any doubters changed their minds yet ?
Playoffs in a bubble then maybe so. Otherwise still not a sure thing.

fwiw - t bauer's peripherals kinda catching up to him - and one of those classic tb outings - 5.1 innings 5 h, 3 er, 112 pitches -- and gets the L in a 7 inning dh game

Another COVID issue in Oakland. With one month to go ... I can see the season being extended by 2-3 days (to finish games -- just send teams to Miami/St.Louis and now Oakland to play back-to-back) . However, too much is on the line for them to quit now ($$$ wise).

And, with another trade in Milone getting wrapped up early today, I doubt the trade deadline will be quiet (unless there was 5+ Oakland guys going down -- putting season in jeopardy). If trends of the last 2 years hold, you should see about 3 trades today (Milone + 2 more) ... then 14-20 tomorrow -- I would predict 12 or so -- a bit less due to salary constraints).

Oakland cancelations may become significant for the Indians.

If the As are forced to cancel the series coming up with Seattle, they will be forced into playing multiple doubleheaders over the next few weeks. They are blessed with an elite pen, but their rotation is so so. A significantly beefed up schedule could have a major negative effect on the As performance...and record. Currently, they have a half game lead over the Tribe for the second seed.

Teams in the playoff hunt who are ALSO seeing their scheduled double headers pile up should become more and more likely trade partners for starting pitching.. Having a six man starting staff makes beaucoup sense if the dreaded "seven games in five days" monster is on the schedule..

Neither the Twins nor Chisox made a move today, although the latter did add Dyson last week.

Dyson was them making a more complete team. Might not look like much, but late and close games he can be a difference maker.
