Just remember whoever we don't draft will have an infinitely better career than who we do draft.
It looks like it's between Okoro,Avdija and Vassell....
Report: Cavs Looking at These 3 Players With No. 5 Overall Pick - Cavaliers Nation
The Cavs are reportedly comfortable with choosing one of three top draft prospects who figure to be available when the team makes its top pick in the upcoming NBA draft.cavaliersnation.com
According to league sources, the Cavaliers are fairly comfortable with selecting between Isaac Okoro, Devin Vassell or Deni Avdija with the fifth overall pick,” Dammarell wrote. “All three of those players make perfect sense for the team as well. The Cavaliers have a dire need for depth on the perimeter and the defensive potential Okoro and Vassell provide is invaluable. But, those same sources also shared that Cleveland is open to trading the pick as well – just as long as it brings back a player that can contribute immediately to the team’s aspirations next season.”
Does drafting a wing say anything about how the Cavs view Windler? And does not drafting a big say they feel they can sign TT? Or is it just the BPA? Or are the Cavs just putting out the normal smoke on who they want?
I think it's the opposite,I think they have high hopes for Windler, especially after seeing him play well in Summer league. If,anything I think they're losing faith in Cedi. He hasn't lived up to the hype. You can never have too many wings and plus I think they're going to try to rearrange the lineup for certain situations like they did when Bickerstaff became the coach.
Anything is possible though...
Cedi is most trade able of the wings. Maybe people want Porter, but we won't give him up. Cedi is a sweet shooting 3 that can play some defense that should come off the bench. Room to grow a bit, can improve his ballhandling and turnovers and could be really good in system with guys who draw more attention. Not a high upside guy, but one who can contribute on a good team.
I think that's why they were so disappointed in Windler getting hurt because they wanted him to take Cedi's starting job.
It's going to be interesting to see, how the lineup will be next season. You gotta play Windler and whoever we draft.Sexton,Nance,Garland, Drummond and Porter are automatic. That leaves Bell and Cedi being the odd man out, unless we draft Wiseman to be Drummond's backup for the moment. It might leave some wiggle room for Bell and Cedi for playing time.
I won't be shocked,if the Cavs trade someone though.
They are definitely going to make some trades and Cedi is one of those contracts that would be really desirable to a contender for a backup wing who can shoot.
Do you see the Cavs keeping Bell.
It might mean they want to sign Drummond long term. If he and TT walk after this season (and TT could walk now) they would not have a center on the roster, which is why I was thinking they would draft Wiseman or Okongwu. But if they're committed to drafting a wing despite having Cedi, Windler, Nance, and Porter then it must mean they want to commit to Drummond, right?Does drafting a wing say anything about how the Cavs view Windler? And does not drafting a big say they feel they can sign TT? Or is it just the BPA? Or are the Cavs just putting out the normal smoke on who they want?
This guy is becoming one of my favorite players in this draft, I think this is a championship caliber player. I think he's going to be successful and will make a huge impact on whatever team gets him. I think he would really help the Cavs establish an identity, I think he's a tone setter. With guys like Collin and Tristan, if we keep him, if we can add Okoro, it gives us another guy who's going to play full tilt. That's how I envision the Cavs team of my dreams, just out working, being more physical and bullying everybody in sight. His ceiling really depends on how good he gets offensively, he's a good slasher and finisher already. He's a decent ball handler right now with pretty good vision, I don't know, seems like a guy who's just going to get better and better.
I get Stanley Johnson vibes from him and his measurements really aren’t that special. I just don’t see it with Okoro, his shot is so broken. Drafting him hoping he develops a shot sounds like a recipe for disaster. Wings who can’t shoot are virtually unplayable.
