2020 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The protocol the B1G put out is very specific and well thought out. Does anybody have a link the other conferences protocols?

Poison pill.

A team can easily miss a game if they test or their upcoming opponent tests over 5%

At that point you're looking at a 7-0 or 6-0 Big Ten team missing the playoffs. That's if they even get to that point

I think a 4-0 Ohio State team and Big 10
Championship gets them into the CFP.

It’s a weird year. I agree the Oct 24 start date is odd....extremely late and will almost assuredly lead to a tie among teams wanting to play in Big 10 championship.

I haven’t seen it yet, but have the announced how teams will be selected for Big 10 championship?

I would assume same tiebreakers as always

Finebaum was on ESPN this morning saying he spoke with Bill Bowlsby and if there's a 8-0 or even 7-0 B1G team they would 100% be in the CFP. Doesn't sound like the B1G would be punished for playing a few less games than other conferences.

That is awesome

So I assume that 1 of those outside division games will be the protected rivalries? So, OSU would play Nebraska, Michigan would play Wisconsin, IU would play Purdue, etc. And then luck of the draw on the other one.

That’s my guess, although I think the only protected crossover rivalry is Indiana Purdue. Rest would come down to who needs another home game vs road game

Jeff Snook reporting on FB that he expects Wade to opt back in. Not sure about Wyatt though. FWIW, they were both named captains for this year.

I assume they wouldn't but it's good they decided on this. It might have been a critical component to getting everyone on board.

Hopefully the TV schedule is cord cutter friendly for Ohio State fans. I really don't want to pay for a streaming cable plan for 1 Ohio State game a month on FS1 or Big Ten network.

I have Youtube TV and should get all the games.

However, if you legit have NOTHING. There are some services that are cheaper than YoutubeTV and has the B1G network. Then use bunny ears for the rest.

Last option, there are so many streaming services out now-a-days that you could do free trials of say, Sling one week, Youtube TV the other, etc. when the game isn't on bunny ears.

I currently have sling orange which I was going to cancel when the NBA ended. I think sling was suppose to add big ten network to their blue package this season.

My hope is that all OSU games end up on broadcast tv.
