I just watched the highlights. Burrow is good. Nobody can run on us. Coach got his first win, and that is the same amount of wins Hue had in 30 games.
plenty to work on, and that’s no surprise. We had no preseason and new coaching. Plenty to be excited about as well.
we should beat Washington. We should beat most ground attack teams. Excited that we actually won a game and really we need to go 2-1 here, off the short week, plenty of time to prep, against a very beatable team.

Hot takes galore here. No one can run on us? I’m going to guess you’ll be revisiting that statement a few weeks from now.

Biggest positives out of this game were play calling and Wills IMO. Aside from the failed trip at the goal line, play calling was outstanding. Really can’t recall the last time I said that about a HC/OC in Cleveland.

Going into the year, I was probably more Worried about Wills than Mayfield. If Wills worked out, we’d still be in a good spot if Mayfield flopped. So far so good on Wills. Should get a good test this week.

Not even going to comment on the defense. There’s a lot of work to be done and I flat out don’t think we have the talent to correct it this season.

Last night was a perfect example of how this offense can use all of its weapons. WR's got targets and chances to make big plays, and both our stud RB's ran the hell out of the ball. Everybody was happy. Of course, that's not going to happen in every game because unsuccessful drives mean less plays run, and fewer opportunities, and more frustration. But as long as the shit is working, why would you want to get rid of OBJ? Absent a missed PI call, he might have had two TD receptions last night. The Bengals were clearly off balance defensively, and the threat he presented was a big part of that.

There may well come a point where it all doesn't work, and that trading OBJ may make sense. It's something to keep an eye on, especially if we decide that we need defensive help more than OBJ. But at least as of right now, PFF's argument for a trade looks more like just trying to be "right", then a fair evaluation of what is truly best for the team.

I don't think trading OBJ is prudent unless we replace him with a bonified deep threat. Who else is is going to make the defense respect the deep shot? We'd see 9 man boxes almost every play.

The threat of OBJ at least keeps the big play in defenses minds.

When is the last time we saw the Browns get props for create play calling. I am excited for the rest of the year, it seems as the teams learns more and more of the system we will keep seeing good things like this. It is nice to have coach who is inivative, even more so on the running side. If the team can run even 75% as good as we did vs Cincy, we are going to be a hard team to stop and should open up a lot of one on one match ups in the passing game for Baker.

If Baker isn't completing quick passes when 9 men are the box then we have bigger issues.

Washington's offense doesn't scare me at all. Haskins should be easy to contain and they are thin at the skill positions. I think Denzel Ward is gonna clamp up Terry too. With the 10 days until the game the defense should be able to heal up and get it together for them.

I know he only snagged one catch, but Harrison Bryant looked pretty damn fast for a TE on that 14-yard catch; he looks like he could develop into a serious weapon. Glad the staff gave him a shot out there and he made the most of it.

Seems like he could just murder weaker linebacker units on drag/dig routes.

as far as Washington, their defensive line is no joke. Big test for the OL and to see if Mayfield is truly on a path to breaking some of his habits.
