2020 Offseason

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The trade I posted works under the cap.

cavs are at 112M for 2021without cap holds add 30m your at 142m without signing
our draft pick or picks. We well could be number uno in salary.

Interesting read the other day the cavs interviewed pf Precious A who is slotted at 14th in most mocks.

Yeah I have to think they are making backup plans to get a wing and a big. Sorta indicates that being far away on extension talks with Drummond might have them going another direction.

Great column - thanks for linking it. The Cavs should be fun to watch this year using a spread out offense and running plays through their bigs with off-ball motion and "live cuts" instead of every play being a boring pick and roll. It actually sounds more like what Bielien wanted to do.

I was expecting that with Beilein's offense. I would spend my time on YouTube looking at people analyzing his offense from college and how it would help the Cavs.

I like the idea of adding a first round pick, but man, we'd be a mortal lock to 3-peat as worst defensive team in the NBA :chuckle:

I think the Cavs defense will be better...

This is,why I want them to bring back Tristan he could lead the bench...

According to John Hollinger of The Athletic, the Boston Celtics could look to ship Enes Kanter, Vincent Poirier and a first-round draft pick for Nance.

I don’t really see the point in that trade for the Cavs? Sorry Kevin Love, but Larry Nance is our best PF IMO. Any trade for Nance only makes sense if we get back a useful piece in return. Kanter, Poirier, and a mid-first round pick really do nothing for me. I’d ask for a combination of Romeo Langford, Robert Williams, and a 1st round pick.

If we can get anything of value for nance do it. He’s not a long term option and is too expensive to be a backup. He’s just not that good. We need less bigs.

I do not want to trade with Danny Ainge ever again.

Teams are asking about Windler
I am a huge fan of Winder when he was at Belmont. His confidence at stroking the 3 was just remarkable. I am not surprised with teams calling for him. Windler is a type of player you would want on a championship team. It was unfortunate in his injury because he was never really hurt in college in his 4 yr career. He may start rusty so please give him patience.

Yes, the Cavaliers "adore" Larry Nance Jr. They're not trading him unless they're floored by the offer. This is supposed to be a weak draft so that 14th round pick probably has less value than in a normal year.

The only way I can see this happening is if the Cavs are in love with Wiseman and have a deal in place to ship the #5 and Kanter to the Warriors for the #2 pick. So it would basically end up being Nance for Wiseman, Poirier, and the #14. Supposedly the Warriors want to win this year and would be willing to move the #2 pick. They would get Kanter in exchange for dropping three spots. I'm not sure he fits their style of play and they probably can't take on his salary so maybe a contract comes back to make the money work.

I can't see a straight trade of Nance to the Celtics for that package.

That's horrible. Kanter doesn't play defense and Poirier is a G-League stiff. I wouldn't want either of them, for nothing. So what pick could they give us that could possibly overcome that.

I don't get the hate regarding Nance. I'm actually intrigued to see him play more SF this season too. His contract is very reasonable. He's a great fit next to Drummond although he's obviously not going to start with Love still on the roster (unless of course Kevin is injured). That supposed Boston package really doesn't interest me that much tbh. What's the odds of that pick being better than LNJ in this draft? If they let TT walk we will need Nance.

Personally? I don't get the feeling Nance Jr cares about team success. If we got rid of him and Drummond and TT and tanked another year while figuring out 'small ball' I wouldn't care. NBA is kinda difficult to watch or care about these days anyway.
