Wonder if a team like Miami might make a surprise move for Frankie?

Went to HS in Florida, they're a playoff team with no star players and have more than enough prospect capital to put together a very enticing package. Obviously don't know if they have the financial means to even have a shot at keeping him.

Just thinking out loud....

I am beginning to consider them a darkhorse candidate as well for the reasons you mentioned. I wonder if they would be willing to part with a package of Jazz Chisholm, Monte Harrison and a lower-level prospect.

nine of the top eleven prospects for the Marlins reached and contributed to the Marlins 2020 season at the highest level.. the two that didn't.. imho... would be the starting point for a deal with the Marlins.. It would not surprise me if the Marlins were involved with a three team deal that saw Francisco Lindor leave.. IDK if the Marlins would end up with Lindor, but it's possible.

Not sure if Jazz Chisholm would be available but an Arias-Chisholm middle infield would be an absolute electric factory for the Tribe.

Shoot, the Marlins have a deep prospect pipeline. Close your eyes and throw a dart and you'll likely hit a guy the Indians would have interest in-- Jazz Chisholm, Sixto Sanchez, Max Meyer, JJ Bleday, Jesus Sanchez, Edward Cabrera, Lewin Diaz, Trevor Rogers, Monte Harrison, Braxton Garrett, Nick Niedert, Connor Scott, Peyton Berdick....

They have legit prospect depth at all three levels-- MLB, Upper Minors and Lower Minors.

Some good ideas being bantered about. The Marlins are definitely a team that could be in play should they decide they are interested in Lindor. The only question I have in regards to acquiring Chisholm is that it would be a bit redundant. We already have Freeman, Miller, Arias, and a few others that are very well regarded. MIF is not where we need help IMO, especially in the long term. We need a couple of run producing bats. Naylor's versatility doesn't pigeon hole them into searching for a 1B or an OF specifically. I have some questions/concerns:
1. Is there much difference between Diaz, Bradley, and Bauers? Why would we prefer Sanchez over Bleday. Are either of them as good as Johnson?
2. What role is Bauers going to play?
3. What role is Bradley going to play?
4. While discussing these possibilities I realized that all of Bauers, Bradley, Naylor, Johnson, Diaz, Sanchez, and Bleday bat LH.
5. Where does Jones fit in all of this and he's LH too.

Get me a run producing corner OF and a C that can actually hit a baseball and I'll ride out the rest. In this line of thought the Reds match up better than most if not all. Who would take Stephenson, Aquino, and India for Lindor and a smaller piece to even it out?

I like the Angel's trade the best, in our minors from what you guys are saying, SS is our strongest position, not sure we need a SS back, we need good hitting outfielders who can also defend.
I thought the Marlins idea was very appealing.

All four of those deals are unappetizing.. pass on all four.. The Reds deal.. is much more interesting... tbh..

@CDAV45

Its hard to say what Bauers and Bradley will do since we really didn't get to see them this season. With Naylor in the mix as well, we have 3 LH bats that play 1B and Bauers and Naylor who also play LF. With Santana likely off the books, and a low probability of being back (im not ruling against it since he really likes it in Cleveland), someone has to step it up.

Bradley has a ton of pop, put him behind Reyes in theory, makes a scary 4-5 in the sense of power. But has Bradley fix his SO issues, patience and the hole in his swing? Bauers supposedly has been retooling his swing and his attitude this season. He is still young (just turned 25) but this will kind of be his last chance in 21 with the tribe. Naylor i think has a future, a slash of .260-.270/.330-.340/.400-.420 isn't going to be unreasonable for him. Of anything I think that's more gonna be his floor.

Bauers has all the hit tools but i think so far in his pro career he's had a bad work ethic and hasn't put in the work to get better. It remains to be seen whether he can mature and get more consistent.

Hopefully he has been growing up this season, hence why we didn't see any of him during the actual season.

I'm not convinced we can get three of anybody's top eight prospects for one year of Lindor. Maybe if the prospects play positions that are so deep in their organizations that they are totally blocked for a couple of years...

Also there's still uncertainty as to whether we can have a full season next year and whether tickets can be sold. Teams might be reluctant to add a big contract.

Andy Martino of SNY started what I'll call a "take worthy of RCF"... The article was posted after the Yankees demise in game five of the ALCS.. (Link: https://sny.tv/articles/solution-to...gio-urshela-move-gleyber-torres-to-third-base )

The relevant statement for this posting involves what the NYY's are going to do with their below average (Outs Above Average) spots in their infield.. It starts with the NYY's # 1 priority, resigning DJ LeMahieu..

Here is the comment: "... Then we realize that the Yanks could tighten their defense by re-signing LeMahieu to play second base, moving Torres to third base, trading Gio Urshela and bringing in a shortstop like Andrelton Simmons or Brandon Crawford .." Instead of either one of these guys, how about Lindor?.. And sure.. we'll start with Gio and Red Thunder coming back where they belong on the North Coast.. perhaps another name or two.. Then move JRam to 2B.. Gio back at 3B.. and play Chang at SS or another deal.. it would save about $ 18 - 20 MM in payroll..

Thoughts?..
