Week 6: Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I though it was Landry but Mayfield grimacing. Geez.

Keenum time. Use the excuse because of bakers injury.

Baker needs to really be unable to go to make that switch.

If he can play, we just need to live with the results this year.

We have to avoid a situation where we don’t know what we should do with him going forward.

I'm just saying...we get the ball to start the second half and could possibly cut the lead back to 10. Anything could happen then. Not saying I think it'll happen...but it's still a possibility to make this game interesting.

Who gives a fuck if benching him now ends his Browns career. If a QB is playing bad enough where benching him is in the discussion then his feelings about it are irrelevant. Play better and it won’t be a discussion.

You don't get it.

Case Keenum is not better than Baker Mayfield. He's a journeyman backup who has graded out as one of the worst starting QB's in football when he's been tasked to be a starter. He's also 32 years old and firmly is what he is at this point.

However unlikely it is, there's the possibility that still exists given his age and the lack of stability in his career that Mayfield *could* improve as a QB. The Browns need to find that out.

Making the switch to the backup who we absolutely positively know isn't the guy because we're pissed off that young starter isn't as good as we all hoped certainly isn't the solution.

Honestly old Browns would’ve gone for two scores there and given up another TD, so I’m ok taking the clock down and getting one at least

Man too bad they couldn't get 3 before the half,,,could have been huge for our comeback hopes....

They can bench Baker and go back to him next week. Nobody is going to cry if they do that.

I am only advocating benching Baker because of the injury siuation at this point. This is Bakers season at this point even though its looking bad today.

We really aren’t in a position to chase a single win, at the expense of finding out where we stand with Baker moving forward.

If this was young Drew Brees and we were certain he’s our QB for the next 10+ years, then sure......maybe you sit him down because he is so banged up and let the backup try to spark the team for a half.

But we have to make a large contractural decision on him and so if he can play, no matter how bad he is, he should be playing. We 100% have to know what we are doing with him at years end. Every decision we make should have that in mind.
