Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Extraordinary as in Lee, Phillips , and Sizemore as the return?

If they're ready then yes. Would you take Riley, Wilson, and Waters from ATL for Ramirez? Riley takes over 3B, Waters is your CF, and Wilson either earns his way in the back of the rotation, joins the BP, or goes to Columbus to wait for an opening in the rotation. If I was ATL I'd jump all over that. Ramirez solidifies 3B and bats in the middle of their lineup for the next 3 yrs. They don't have to give up Pache, and Wilson isn't one of their top 3 SP.

In 462 AB's Riley struck out 157 times (34%). He hit 26 home runs in 131 games but I'm not crazy about all those K's or the .288 OBP. His walk rate is very low.

However, if they're getting Hosey it makes sense for Riley to come back the other way. I noticed he had 25 at-bats at first base so we could move him over at some point to clear a spot for Nolan Jones. He had 225 at-bats in left field in 2019 so that's another option. But I'd rather have their top catching prospect and let them figure out where to move Riley when Hosey shows up. They have catchers ranked 6, 8, and 9.

Waters is their #2 prospect according to Fangraphs and fills a huge need in CF. Wilson is their #5. Overall they rank #21 and #69, respectively. Add in Valera, Jones, and Roccio and we'd have five in the top 71 with the chance to pick up more in the Lindor trade.

Might as well go big or go home.

Because of the gentlemans agreement that Carrasco essentially made when he resigned again at a hometown discount because he wants to retire an Indian. It would hurt the Indians organization's reputation really really bad in the eyes of a lot of people if we trade Carrasco without his approval.

Did this come from a reporter or one of our insiders?

OK, since we're pretty much seeing eye to eye here, let's expand this thought process. In another deal send Lindor to the Reds for Stephenson and Senzel. Senzel and Riley are 25, and 23 respectively. I think that they can right their ships and come up big because they are rife with talent. We solidify 3B with Riley, 2B with Senzel, CF with Waters, C with Stephenson while adding a quality SP for depth. Let me know if you like this idea and then I'll know if I can expand further or pump the brakes. LOL!

I would see the Braves as being very interested in Carlos with their offense. Him plus Fried, Soroka, Anderson is right there with the Dodgers

It pretty much came from how Antonetti and Carrasco and other stuff like that from the interviews and the way they talked. Carrasco planned on retiring an Indian and he actually would get his 10-5 next season to be honest. Normally I would all be up for trading Carrasco, but with how he resigned and the way they spoke, Carrasco will retire an Indian unless he approves otherwise

@Huber. I am just going by how they spoke and communicated after he resigned and Carrasco spends a lot of time in the community of Cleveland and has stated multiple times, he plans on retiring as an Indian.

Jose isn't going anywhere any time soon. There's really no reason to even speculate until this time next season. The Indians are not rebuilding.

To be honest, I would not be surprised if they work out an extension with him as well.

I’m skeptical of anyone claiming knowledge of a gentleman’s agreement, which by definition is kept private.

Antonetti essentially at one point stated they wouldn't trade Carrasco when he signed the contract extension and Carrasco stated he signed since he wants to retire in Cleveland. So its more of a verbal no trade rather than on paper. Antonetti will essentially just have to ask Carrasco if he's okay to move to a new team first before the okay to be traded. Hence why I call it a gentlemans agreement since the Indians will ask if Carrasco wishes to be moved or not.

I don't think they'll trade him but I also don't think it's a guarantee he stays either. Things change - like a global pandemic wiping out 81 nights of ticket sales - and the Indians still have a ton of SP options.

I've been quite active in the Indians thread for years and don't toss unfounded rumors around for the hell of it. Having said that, I've recently heard from more than one person that Dolan is determined to sell majority control of the franchise sooner than later. Would any of our insiders be able to shed any light on the ownership situation?

It would be the best to get ahold of BimboColesHair since usually he has the best info. I think last time he stated more towards they want at least a new minority owner that will eventually be the new owner, but they are looking for people who meet certain criteria (like keeping the team im Cleveland, etc).

I'd love to see a link. I've looked and can't find one. You kinda think noga, or castrovince, or Hoynes or Pluto would've written this up. you would also think that Pluto or Hoynes who have written about trading Carrasco recently would've mentioned this in their articles if they knew it to be true. esp Pluto since he seems to have Dolan as a source and was priming (imo) everyone to consider that cookie could well be traded.

Why all the angst about trading Carrasco? He’s coming off a nice comeback year so Tribe would be selling high. But his injury/serious illness history should give everyone pause. If he could bring back two higher end prospects, I would not hesitate nor would I balk at packaging with Lindor in a mega deal.
