Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ok, let's settle for Drummond and Exum for Hayward, Langford, and Picks #26 and #30.

FINAL offer.
Too much quantity, not enough quality coming back. And who will play center this year if TT leaves? And next year if we don't get to draft Wiseman?

I really like Robert Williams. He's a 72% shooter who is averaging 1.2 blocks in 11 minutes for his two-year career. That's 3.6 blocks, 11 points, and 10 boards per 33 minutes.

I'd trade Drummond for Hayward and Williams. I'm not crazy about the #14 in the weakest draft in seven years, especially when we'll already have two rookies in Windler and the #5 pick.

The advantage for the Cavs is after this year they'll have Williams, who will make $2 million this year and the Cavs would control him for four more years. The attraction for the Celtics is they have little use for Heyward (he only played in 5 of their 17 playoff games) but Drummond would be a big upgrade. With him and Theis they wouldn't need Williams.

With more playing time than he got in Boston Williams could develop into a pretty nice Tristan Thompson type player. Except he is a much, much better shot blocker than Thompson (0.9 blocks in 30 minutes last year).

I don’t like how people are talking about Andre Drummond like he’s a bum. It’s like people think players can only be three things. All NBA, All Star, or a bum. Andre Drummond can ball and he’s still one of the top bigs in the league.

I don’t think he’s a bum, but I do think he’s going to ask for at least $25 mill a year on his next contract. At best he should be the 3rd option on a playoff/contending team.

He doesn’t do a lot to make others better and he’s never been much of a leader, so he really doesn’t serve that much of a purpose for a rebuilding team.

I think we should wait until the deadline to do something with him. None of the trades I’ve seen thrown out here are all that good. If we could trade Drummond for the 2nd pick and Barnes I’d do that. Otherwise I don’t see the appeal of Hayward, Beverly, or any of the other guys mentioned.

If the league has no fans in the stands or needs some bubble setup, a lot of owners will panic. We have $40 mill in expiring a plus an owner that isn’t going to worry about taking a short term hit to build a winner long term. Now isn’t the time to get an itchy trigger finger.

This is "Welcome Andre Drummond" thread for Christ's sake. Pay the man some respect, and create a separate "Trade Drummond" thread!

Agree 100%. I get the concern that he may not be willing to fit in, but the dude is the best rebounder in the league.

Consistently too. And he’s always near the top in steals and blocks. He’s openly acknowledging that he needs to add and improve some elements of his game and hes being clowned for it.

Why are people even getting hung up on him and being a first option? These are things that naturally work themselves out. And to be fair to Drummond, look at this Cavs roster. We aren’t exactly lighting the world on fire out there. It’s not like he’s on a team with Kawhi and Paul George and saying that he needs to be the first option.

One last thing I’d like to add is Brooke Lopez. For years it looked like Lopez was going to be a dinosaur big man and get phased out. He developed a 3 point shot and he’s picked up his level of play. Drummond is a better ball handler, defender, and rebounder than Lopez. Drummond is also younger. There’s no reason to not believe that Drummond can’t turn his career around like Lopez did.

I’m rooting for him because in a league where a lot of guys get paid and stifle. Their development hes seeking new ways to be an impactful player. Is’t this they type of stuff that you want to see from our players in the offseason? Good for him.

I like Drummond and he is easily one of the most talented guys on the team. His size and athleticism is undeniable. He raised the talent level on the team. I can't disagree.

I like the idea of Drummond. He's fast, he has quick hands and feet. He's super strong. Rebounding, love it. Passing is better than I thought. Tope ten in steals and blocks is impressive.

His BBIQ is worse than I thought. He pretty obviously plays outside the offense a lot of the time. I'd say he played 3 good games in his 6 he played with the Cavs, maybe. He's immature IMO. I get Zach Randolph vibes from him(not the grizz version).
