This is what I want so much, but I'm afraid Boston values Turner higher than Drummond (they should). Boston is the last place I want Myles to end up in.
Andre Drummond has had a PER over 20.9 every year of his 9 year career thus far. You know how many times Myles Turner has had a PER over 20.9 in his 5 year career? ZERO. The closest he’s gotten is 18.5, which was in his 2nd season, and this past year he was at 14.8.

Who do you think is the better player? Turner is 3 years younger, so I guess that’s worth something. I’d consider trading for Turner only if Drummond prices himself outside of what we deem to be reasonable.

We can argue all day long about stats and the diminishing impact of big men on the NBA game. Someone apparently forgot to tell the Warriors & Hawks, who took James Wiseman & Onyeka Okongwu in the top 6 of the draft.

Turner is the better defensive player. Drummond is the better offensive player and requires more touches to contribute. So which player is "better" may depend upon which team is going the asking, and the role they want that center to fill.

PER doesn't really answer the question because according to Hollinger himself, it doesn't fully account for defensive impact.

Maybe so, but DBPM (Defensive Box Plus/Minus) measures a players defensive impact. Turner’s score was 1.2 whereas Drummonds was 0.5, which indicates that Turner is, in fact, the better defensive player. However, Drummond is much better on the boards and his career OBPM is 1.0 vs -0.6 for Turner.

Hopefully Ainge thinks like this too.

But one thinks he is a guard/wing and tries to handle the ball on the perimeter, the other spaces the floor for you with 3 point shooting. Drummond is the better roller, but Turner isn't too bad there either. We would miss the orebounds and passing, but the extra shooting would be huge for all our young guys.

Defensively one is one of the best anchors in the game, gives fits to every player in the league and isn't even bad in space, so he can stay on the floor for most of the games, and when on change your whole defensive outlook. Perfect to cover for our guards.

The other is decent defensively but doesn't have plus brain and isn't a legit anchor. He's just big, rebound every well and blocks some shots. Things every team is finding now easily. Plus he is run off the floor vs small ball so his time is limited.

Turner's impact is not being valued properly by stats. For sure not on defense. He's one of the few true anchors, who block the likes of LBJ etc. The only concerns with him are rebounding but we have Love/Nance, maybe TT, and potential health concerns. And he's 24.

Give me Myles any time over Drummond, but especially for our current team with almost zero defense.

Turner is a more agile defender and has a better shot. He, like Drummond, still needs to be involved in the pick-and-roll to be at his most effective. He also wants a huge contract, which indicates that he wants a big role.

I'm good with keeping Drummond or dumping him somewhere where we take on contracts and get a pick or two. Trading for a guy who has been a bit of a malcontent and is not substantially better than Drummond is not high on my priority list.

Just prepared the worst Tri Tip roast of my life. Why? because the fucking meat thermometer was fucking inaccurate. The recipe said 50 minutes and I took it out at 1:40 so you can only imagine. The thermometer showed 100f and I told everyone that we need to take it out at around the 50 minute mark and something is off, but they said no way! The issue is that apartment is a rental and the oven is not well calibrated at all, so I had no idea whether it was the oven or the thermometer, or both. Probably both.
Dinner ruined with well done+++ tough meat. Life sucks. How do I continue from here? I like roasts, but i'm working with a shitty oven and a terrible thermometer that is now in the trash.

I put this rant on the Isaac Okoro thread cause he would understand and the traffic here is pretty good for a good rant.

Bit of a malcontent? He's also under contract for 3 more years.

Isaac Okoro wouldn't rant about it. He would choke that shit down in between sets on the bench.

Boston is up to something as this is the second big they’ve traded this week and they drafted only a SF & PG. They also dealt Vincent Poirer to OKC. Both trades were salary dumps for future draft picks.
