Cleveland Browns 2020 Regular Season: What a Ride!

I think people are overrating the Ravens at this point. They're not the same squad which went on that long unbeaten streak last season. Offensive line, defensive backfield and most notably QB are not playing at a level which currently guarantees wins.

Miami, while hugely improved, has a few games which could trip them up. Colts and Titans are very much on the level we're at: capable of beating bad teams but with flaws which are readily exposed by better opponents. At this point I'd say the soundest AFC team outside the Steelers and Chiefs are the Raiders, which is pretty bad news for the Browns.

All games are pivotal from this point on—that goes without saying—but Sunday really is a Must Win. Looking down the stretch the Giants seem to be slowly getting things together and that game looks like a toss-up in NJ. Could be that we'll need to win at least one of the home fixtures versus Pitt and Baltimore to get in the playoffs. I'm feeling sanguine about that prospect. The reassuring factor this year is that the coaching won't necessarily cost us chances to win games like Freddie did at times. I'm encouraged that Joe Woods seemed to have dragged improved play out of the defense after the bye. Even without Myles for the next two weeks there shouldn't be that absolute reliance on big plays and freakish levels of turnovers. Scheme, capacity for adjustment, competence are the keys. Stefanski and co. offer that. Let's see if Baker can face his doubters down and earn a future for himself. I still believe in his talent. There will doubtless be twists and turns. Should be excruciating fun from here every week.

People counting these “should wins” or “guaranteed wins” for teams, Browns or otherwise is absurd.

Doesn’t work that way in the NFL. Myles just went down, presumably ending the Browns season according to apparently half of you.

Meanwhile, weather has impacted game outcomes tremendously and will for other teams. Other teams will start to experience key injuries as well. And sometimes good teams just lose to average/bad ones.

Every year, good teams go on bad streaks and supposed bad teams go on good streaks. Maybe one or multiple of those scenarios plus injuries and weather benefit the Browns.

Sports reminds me of investing/stock market — there are ups and downs — you cannot stop it, it WILL happen. One common piece of advice is to not invest A. If you do not have the “liquid” assests and B. If you get overly emotional about ups and downs/impatient.

My point is — do you see the correlation with sports? Some teams suck, some teams are good, aome get hot and some get cold. This WILL happen and you cannot stop it.

What i am trying to say is, if you get overly emotional about sports, maybe it would be healthier to not watch. Like, if “your” team loses and you get drunk amd beat your wife and kids or it downright ruins your day or week — that might be a major concern.

What’s infuriating is that without Myles, we talk about what lineman can generate pressure, because we all know that Joe Woods won’t blitz to generate pressure, even in shitty conditions.

Yep. Agree 100%.

People’s responses to sports are generally reflective of their personalities and whatever’s going on in their personal lives.

I will say that regardless of what’s going on in mine I still enjoy sports and this is the third year in the history of the Browns I’ve “invested” in them at the beginning of a season.

The first was ‘08 after they won some games with DA. Bad investment. Should have been predictable.

The last two have been these last two years. Last year ALSO should have been predictable with Freddie at the helm and Baker out of shape.

This year, Stefanski alone gave me confidence because I wanted him as the coach and I felt confident that he’d get the most out of the talent and at minimum we’d have a squad that was fun to watch even if they didn’t make the playoffs THIS year. I expected 10 wins and a good offense and they’re on track for that. That’s a team worth watching every week.

If I have that available on Sundays I’ll watch at minimum 8-10 games. I think that’s fair to expect from both the Browns and any fan in return.

You can call someone like me a fairweather fan but the Haslams have burned their fans and deserve no better.

Understand this — i did my time — literally, after a Romeo Crennel coached game, I was arrested for (allegedly) felonious assault/sexual assault with a Pringles can and served 4 years in Rikers Island.

Now, it was not easy — i learned to control my rage. But, the rage was not helped due to the copious amounts of warm Steel Reserve and Parrot Bay Rum. Prison and AA have impacted my life in such a positive way, it is really difficult to put into words.

The program works — if, you work it.

Self- reporting is important.

How is your asshole healing up and how did they remove the can?

Sure we could lose this game without MG but we could also have guys step up and talk about next man up and all that good stuff.

As long as we play prepared and focused then I can’t complain. If the talent isn’t there, who am I to tell a Harvard MBA that we should have constructed the roster any different? Who am I to go there and tell KEVSKI that he didn’t scheme us well?

Is this our first non-windy game since OBJ went down? Let’s see if the offense can put up 28+ and control the clock and allow the defense to stay rested and come up with a play or 2, or at least some stops in the red zone. One thing about the NFL and especially our year is that you don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be focused and prepared, and at the very least we are seeing the entire squadron buy in and play hard.

This is like the best Browns year ever so far. Hopefully we keep the momentum up and battle for a playoff spot. So crazy to feel what other fans feel every year: the games feel like playoff games already because even if they aren’t must win, they feel damn close.

Healed up nicely — tightened right back up and everything!

Naturally, i resisted arrest and was beaten senseless after i attempted to urinate on the two female officers. As for how it was removed — i have no idea, again i was still uncouncious after the police beating.

Now, we cannot not forget the good folks at New York Presbyterian — they did a fine job removing the barbecue flavored Pringles can from my rectum. In my opinion, that medical staff is full of patriots and potential Browns fans.

Good ole RCF with the doom and gloom over one guy (can argue he’s 2).
With that said, our BEST player is Chubb. We need to just run all over these guys and out score them. Then we have Jax next week and do the same thing. Run and out score.
Then Myles will be back for the stretch run.
Not worried about not having Myles the next 2 weeks. We aren’t playing Pittsburg or Baltimore.

Yeah I can't fathom why fans of this team lack optimism after the past 25 years or so :chuckle:

Meh. What happened 25, 20, 15, 10 and 5 years ago has nothing to do with this year. I’d make the argument that what happened 2 years ago doesn’t matter.
We’re a better team than we have been in decades. One player won’t make us or kill us anymore.

Myles is more important to this team winning games than Chubb. If only because the drop-off from Chubb to Hunt isn’t as bad as from Myles to Porter Gustin.

I actually do agree with you. I also find it completely understandable for this fan base to be pessimistic until the team proves otherwise.
