Traded: Javale McGee

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like we got a center, lol

Serious Question. Will he even report? He's up in age and would likely prefer to be on the end of a contenders bench rather then backing up Drummond.

He's a good regular season center. Pretty useless against playoff teams/matchups but the Cavs don't have to worry about that this year

JavaLOLOLOLO...

McKinnie and Bell are supposed to be on their way as well, which makes sense. They are minimum salaries that are suddenly not able to be traded and still be a team option. Cavs were screwed on that one.

So the Lakers are just creating cap space as we are not sending any contracts back their way! That’s why they are great organization.....they make smart moves! I’m not sure I’m overjoyed with all of these second round picks Koby is gobbling up because coming from the Lakers they will be low picks!

We could get a second rounder for him I'm pretty sure. Raptors need a center badly and his contract is only 4.1 million.

This is a very Washington NationaIs style move, but he'll put as many butts in the seats as they're allowed to fill, but this season will probably take place infront of videoboards, anyway. Say what you will about JaVale, but he is a hard worker and solid contributor, it's kinda sad how little respect the Lakers have for their foundational players, but kinda telling when you see guys like Rondo jump ship, too.

For once we actually used a trade exception (a $3.9 million one left from the Jordan Clarkson deal) and we threw in Bell and McKinnie to make up the difference with McGee's contract, which is $4m+/year. He serves a need and could help our young guards by providing a defensive presence in the middle and the ability to run the floor and catch a lop pass on offense. Sometimes, even in a rebuild, you need some quality role players while the young players grow into their roles.
