Traded: Javale McGee

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Koby slowly restocking those 2nd rounders Griff burned through. I see a future trade partner during draft with OKC when they have more picks than openings and can’t take a guaranteed contract. More 2nd rounders equals future 1st

Nothing great, but there are a few positives:

1. We were looking for a back-up center anyway. JaVale is a great rebounder and shot-blocker. I think $4.1 million is a fair price.
2. He is a good presence in the locker room
3. Yeah, we got a second rounder. It will be end-of-draft pick, but we got *something*. Signing an FA would not give that.

Good deal, if they keep him at least the Cavs would not be undersized too much, specially the frontcourt... Good way to make up for the undersized guards, just need to design a good defensive scheme...

So what's the plan for center next year? Both Drummond and Mcgee are expiring, didnt draft a big man this year.

Fuck no!!! This guy has one of the lowest basketball IQs I ever seen in a NBA player. Keep Shaqtin' a fool away from the Q.

We can draft or sign one next season. Also have 3 roster spots, 2 which will likely be used to cycle trash in and out of the roster. Maybe some trash C from the GLeague sticks and turns out to not be trash.

to be fair, javale has cleared up his act since his GSW days. maybe they bring him in to tell drummond to stop being a fool?

Serious Question. Will he even report? He's up in age and would likely prefer to be on the end of a contenders bench rather then backing up Drummond.

If he doesnt report I bet they tell him that's fine and the front office will just sign someone else. They probably will hold on to McGee for when someone gets hurt on a contender or if a contender's camp options don't work out.

This feel like a flip move to gain a couple more 2 round picks. He might be gone by the start of the season.

Apparently the Knicks had interest in trading for him,,,,hey he started 130 of
143 games for the Lakers,,,he is a productive player.

Very nice move. It's true we may flip the contract at the deadline. But that just means more assets.
So let me think,,,,, after next season we might have zero centers. But a boatload of cap space.
How about the Greek Freak? Well, a guys gotta dream.

If you’re gonna dream, dream big! I’m sure there are some great Greek restaurants in the Cleveland area to entice him too! LOL!

He's actually much better than his younger days. He's a good dude and is effective.
The problem is he is not good at rotating out the to 3 point line so he gets completely negated in the playoffs. Basically every team tries to maximize spacing in the playoffs
