Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When he first came into the league, I remember thinking he looked like a baby horse that can barely walk. Very uncoordinated, no touch around the basket. He is still not great, but he can post up a little, his passing and ball handling are greatly improved. I don't think it is inconceivable that he can hit some 3's, but if he was actually getting better at shooting I would like to see better free throws.

He only hit 60% ft's once in his career.

I really like Drummond, I am just not very hopeful he is going to do winning things this year. His priorities are too skewed

Windhorst thinks Drummond and Cedi could bring Chris Paul. Just sayin'.

You can’t blame the guy. The NBA has turned its back on post play. Ultimately, without some rule changes or moving the line back 2 ft/eliminating the corner three, you are going to have 90% or bigs shooting 2+ three pointers per game within another 2-4 years

Well, we know he can make two in a row with no pressure in his face. Actually, he'll never have any pressure in his face because if he looks like he's going to shoot the 3 the defender will invite him to go ahead. I don't know why he's working on pump fakes from the 3-point line and shooting off the dribble.

I'm wondering how many be bricked before he made two in a row. But, Nance taught himself to shoot 3's, maybe Dre can do it if he is indeed practicing every day.

Love seems like he never misses that pimp fake. I really appreciate that shot, but no way Drummond should take it. :chuckle:

$17.5M per....seems like a good baseline to discuss a Drummond extension, since they’re similar players. Capela is also similar and he’s making $18M per year.

If he can hit an open 3 and beat a big off the bounce from the high post or attack a closeout, then I think he becomes a really valuable player. That's kind of where the league is going, I've got no problem with him trying to add that to his game. The problem with Drummond is that he's always just trying to do too much, if he could master the useful skills and cut out all of the extra unnecessary bullshit, then he could be a pretty interesting player.

Drummond and Adams are similar players, although Drummond has averaged 15, 14 and 2 throughout his career, while Adams has averaged 10, 8 and 1. Adams is meaner and more of an enforcer type.

My contention is that Drummond is worth $90 million for 4 years or $110 million for 5 years in today’s market, which is similar to what Adams received per year, once the $29 million option year is factored in.

But it sounds as if he’ll pick up his option.
