My friends and I were obsessed with Baron around that time (teenagers). What a characterFavorite Cav: another vote for Z. Man that dude battles through those foot issues and still made one hell of an impact during games.
All time: this is bizarre, but baron davis, mostly because of that 07 series against the mavs
Damn I had forgotten about Connie (the Hawk)Great topic. Great names.
It's funny. My favorite Cavs are not the big scorers. I liked the guys that did the dirty work. Like Lonnie Shelton and Rick Roberson. I think Roberson still holds the franchise record for most rebounds in a game.
As for my favorite NBA player I have another obscure choice: Connie Hawkins. Maybe he wasn't my favorite, but he got me interested in the NBA. I was just a kid . I read his great autobiography "Foul" and became fascinated. Hawkins was a spectacular player, and a playground legend. He got involved in a scandal, and only made it to the NBA later. He played for the Sun's, who never seemed to be on tv. I just saw highlights of him play. When you don't see a player, and only hear about him, he becomes a legend, more myth than man.
Eventually my buddies and I went down to the old Cleveland Arena to see the Sun's play the Cavs. I was thrilled.
The Hawk looked like he was playing with a grapefruit.Damn I had forgotten about Connie (the Hawk)
His greatest playing days came in the old ABA! Boy could he glide through the air so effortlessly for a dunk or finger roll!
I thought I remembered something back in the day that he DID have the biggest hands in basketball at the timeThe Hawk looked like he was playing with a grapefruit.
I actually responded to Mark's tweet regarding this and he liked it. Awesome day.
