2020-2021 Cavs Season General Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You wonder if they actually show these to anyone or if it's just a bunch of 20 year-old urban studies students going "you know what would be really meaningful to the city..."

No offense to urban studies students. Some of my best friends are... ah forget it.

Sinclair's direct to consumer idea is dead in the water before it ever happens. Betting the price will be at minimum $30 a month for access to 1 fucking channel (2 if you're in Ohio). Bank on them overpricing it and it dying within a year. I may or may not have been privy to what they were asking for when all the streamers dropped them. If they think they're gonna get that value on direct to consumer, it's going to be outlandish priced.
Agreed. If they offered every single network for a total of like, $15 monthly, I'd probably be in.

I feel like the NBA league pass (and MLB.tv) should allow you to buy subscriptions that either follow a team (just get that station, plus the NBA station) or the national one with all games. NBA league pass is almost way too much and it takes like 3 days to get games when in the blackout area.

I just found out you CAN subscribe to one team for $119.99 per year. That comes out to $1.67 per game for a 72-game season. I don't know about you, but I think that is an amazing value. Since I have DirecTV I can DVR the games and watch them on a one-hour delay and fast forward through the breaks.

Problem is, if you don't have a cable subscription (which i dont) the games are blacked out locally even if i get that

officially garbage...
Worst part is the ‘flair look’ on the right side of the shorts. I guess it’s supposed to look like they’re wearing pins from different bands? The Cleveland clip art is a mish mosh and most people won’t know it’s font from different bands.

The court is cool, but the uniforms are very meh. The players can’t say what they really think because they’re supposed to help promote these new threads. Ahh well, they’ll probably just be around for a year then I imagine they’ll disappear

Random take on the upcoming season:

1. How far up can the Cavs go in the standings ladder?
Three teams from the Western conference look worse than us to slightly better than us - Thunder, Spurs, and Kings. Depending on how Ball pans out in Charlotte, I see five EC teams in that same category - Knicks, Bulls, Pistons, Hornets, and Magic. So, realistically (actually, being a bit optimistic) the Cavs can be in the 21 to 23 range and get a fair shot in the lottery.

2. Who should be the starting five?
I know there are other threads on this. But, anyway, here is what I think. Sexton, KPJ, Windler, Love, and Drummond should start. The combined minutes for Drummond and McGee should be in the mid-30s unless the match-up demands more minutes from them. This is to allow Nance ample time on the court. I think some starting unit players will be rested periodically because of the compact schedule. So Dotson, Exum, Delly, and Wade should get the opportunity to see the floor.

3. Should the Cavs trade Drummond?
I think it will come down to, 'can the Cavs trade him'. The next draft class and FA class are both impressive. So, a salary-dump and some picks from a win-now team is possible in exchange for Drummond. Questions is, are the Cavs looking to swallow more salary-dumps?

4. Should Okoro eventually start at SF?
I wouldn't pull the trigger so early. Let him come from the bench, and prove that he his what expected him to be. He will have to earn his place over KPJ, and Windler (hypothetically, though. May be JBB will stick with Garland and Cedi - who knows!).

5. Can the Cavs realistically recruit a superstar FA next offseason? If so, who can that be?
I was thinking about it. If our young core does not perform well, should we try to get our next franchise player from the next draft class, or try to recruit a proven star? It's another thing, though, that nobody might be willing to come here. If at least one of the young guys and Love have a really good season, we just might land someone.

What has Windler proven that Okoro has not?

1. I think the Cavs will win 30-35 games

2. Garland, Sexton, Okoro,Love and Drummond

3. If,a team offer you a good deal then take it...If,not trade McGee.

4. I haven't seen Bickerstaff's interview today but he said Okoro practice really good today...If,that continues to happen, you start him...imo

5. For whatever reason, the city has this bad reputation that turns off free agents from any sport. I understand, the lack of winning and cold weather but it has to be more than that.

Even, when we had Lebron, free agents didn't want to come here but somehow willing go to the Hawks that hasn't won anything in its franchise.

With that said,if Sexton continues to ball out,Garland and Porter take a huge leap and Okoro and Windler does something. I think a superstar type player is willing to come here..imo

Apparently Okoro wants to fight for the starting spot and doesn't want it given. That is pretty nice.
