2020 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Would a 1-0 OSU team with a win over a 7-1 IU team be more deserving of a shot at the BIG 10 title?
If you think the answer is no, then logically there is some threshold required. And the BIG 10 determined that threshold months ago.

The Big Ten determined in August none of its teams were allowed to play Football this season.

So your argument is invalid.

Thanks.

The only reason to waive it is to help Ohio State out, and whether you think that’s a legitimate reason comes down to whether you’re an OSU fan or not.

If you are correct, then all the other schools that obviously are not fans of Ohio State will oppose changing the 6 game requirement.

So let's see how that turns out, and we'll have our answer.

Why don’t you and @MediumBaller take the rest of the day off. We get where you stand. As terrible as your math and your theories are.

I was done, but after this response I might stick around now. We get where you stand too. You want to change the rules because otherwise your team won’t be eligible for the championship.

Simply put:

Keeping the rule benefits nobody besides OSU haters and arguably Indiana.

Changing the rule benefits everybody besides OSU haters.

I could understand Indiana's position here, if they didn't lose the head-to-head already. Putting Indiana in over ohio state is applying a technicality that materialized by happenstance and has little to do with the spirit of the rule's original intent.

If indiana, or any other big ten east team, was undefeated, ranked 4th in the playoffs, and had a victory over OSU, that team should go over ohio state. It's about doing what's best for the conference, not holding to the letter of a hastily made rule written in a time of enormous uncertainty.

Welp.

Lets keep the 6 game rule and let a 2-4 Michigan State team go to the B1G Championship!!!
If Indiana gets two weeks of COVID, OSU can't find an opponent and they don't change the rule, the winner of the Michigan State vs Penn State will be the Western Champion

Indiana almost assuredly is not getting in the CFP even if they win the B1G Championship.

Their best win all year would be either Northwestern in the B1G Champ game, who isn't very good despite what the rankings say, or Wisconsin, who definitely isn't very good.

The only team all year they played that was worth a damn beat them.

Undefeated Cincinnati gets in over one-loss Indiana who lost to the only good team on their schedule.

Ohio State is the B1G's only chance at making the CFP, which is why the stupid minimum games played rule is going to get thrown out in the weirdest year in the 151 years of College Football. Ohio State is the best team in the conference and they've proven it.

Wait what’s all this bickering? Aren’t we just going to schedule Nebraska or Maryland?

If we can’t get another b10 team we should legit play TAMU. I want to embarrass them so bad. Plus if we can’t beat them we shouldn’t go to the playoffs.

It’s bad business for the Big 10 to not position a team to make the playoff. Ohio State is the only candidate, so they will move the goal posts to ensure they give us the best chance to get in.

I've heard that we are close to scheduling a game with Texas A&M. This isn't coming from my friend - secondary source who heard it from a big-time booster. Apparently working through COVID kinks and the game could be played Sunday or even Monday night.
