I think, over the last 8 weeks or so, the Browns really started transforming their offense due to what teams were doing. And I would expect that Stefanski will keep morphing the offense.

I think this team was powered by their running attack early in the season and slow transitioned. By the end of the year, it was being powered by Baker. Remember what Berry said, he believes that this is a passing league. I don't think what the Browns did at the beginning of the year is their true philosophy on how to score points.

By the end of the year, the Browns offense looked like a mix between the Mike McCarthy passing attack of old and the systems you would see from a Shanahan offense. I think Van Pelt was brought in to help Stefanski develop his passing strategy even more than what he already had.

What I would expect is that this transition continues into the off season. While the Browns will still have a great rushing attack, I think we will continue to see more and more of passing concepts that would resemble WCO style routes and concepts and maybe even more.

It's truly incredible how Stefanski is able to meld all these different systems together into his system and continues to make it work. He took the power run game concepts from Callahan, he's taking concepts from Callahan, Van Pelt, Childress, and maybe even a dash of the Patriots under Brady via O'Shea. It's a brilliant offense that will continue to meld as different coaches come in and out from the Browns.

I believe Stefanski serving under different coaches from his time with the Vikings really helped him understand and adapt to what coaches do best. He's a jack of all trades in a way that few coaches in the NFL really could have ever done, understanding how to adapt his style to other coaches. He's absorbed all these different styles in such a short amount of time, and yet he's able to throw any sort of pitch in any count.

Stefanski is a unicorn of a head coach. The Browns are extremely lucky to have gotten a 2nd chance to hire him. Thank god Dorsey was removed and they got to hire Stefanski. The sky is truly the limit for him, IMO.
Fully agree and I think it shows just how dynamic Stefanski's offense can be.

Although the wide zone and PA rollout is essentially our "identity", we must be capable of attacking in a variety of ways. We have to be able to deviate from that or teams will just stack the box to stop the run and contain Baker on the edge. Next year our offense will be more fluent and Baker will be more like 2nd half 2020 than 1st half.

Teams started to sit on that in the later half of the year. They would run blitz the shit of the Browns and cover the backside. That's why the Browns stopped using it.

Baker was awesome from the pocket in the 2nd half. It's why I'm high on Baker going forward, he made massive strides in the pocket and allows the Browns to run an actual high functioning passing offense with complex route concepts. The Browns need to develop that further rather than relying on misdirection like they did in the 1st half of the year. As we saw, NFL teams can adjust and shut that shit down.

We never saw them both lined up in the backfield (correct me if I'm wrong) and it seemed to me that we played out the tosses to Chubb in pretty much the same way as Pitt, which seems like...not a great idea.

I had a running joke all season with college buddies that I bought nipple clamps online specifically for the Hunt/Chubb backfield, and watch games with a jar of iodine at the ready. Felt like a huge waste of money.

Good thing is, nipple clamps and iodine never spoil. Save 'em for next year.

I felt the same way with our final drive before the half (when Higgins fumbled). I thought we were leaving WAY too much time on the clock. KC ended up getting a field goal and although it didn't matter in terms of the end result, it still felt very un-Stefanski-like.
Same with the Ravens game on our last drive where we scored in like 12 seconds

It’s not enough to score against elite offenses, you also need to play the clock

Jesus Christ man. Seriously, imagine if another organization snagged him last year and we were sitting here talking about the draft almost exclusively back in September — on the verge of another losing record — while this guy makes the divisional round somewhere else. Meanwhile; we sit here and ask each other when the fuck are we going to get it right? We don’t have to follow all this social media about candidates this year.

can’t say enough how nice it is to go into an off-season that actually succeeds a good season. Now it’s about completion rather than assembly.

It’s really unreal. We literally got it right. All of it.

So did the Cavs. Tribe as well.

Kind of crazy when you think about it

The funny thing is that looking back at the 1st page and the comment about Daboll...the rest of the league are ready to anoint Baldie the Next Great Thing right now. And he might be at least good...

And Kevski was often panned at the time for being "second choice after Freddie the year before."
