The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trophy hunting in new game plus in Demon’s Souls now. What a blast to play in 60 FPS, just wish it wasn’t such a short game (as compared to the rest of the series).

Gonna be my first buy when I get a PS5. I heard it’s different from Dark Souls and Bloodborne, with less saves so a lot more corpse running thus more frustrating. True? If so I may need to pass. Love the Souls games but they are right on the line of being too frustrating and difficult for me. Had to drop Sekiro for this reason.

Having played every Soulsborne game (and Sekiro), I can say this one is by far the easiest. I wouldn’t sweat it about running around in soul form, either - invasions are pretty frequent in this game, to the point where they’re kind of a nuisance, which doesn’t happen as long as you’re not in human form (with one exception, but I won’t spoil it here). And in my experience, most of the people invading suck anyways. The bosses in the game are rather slow and predictable, as well.

If you really want to play the game in easy mode, go with a mage build, and put souls into magic and intelligence. You’ll basically one shot most enemies and finish bosses in under 30 seconds.

Did you find Sekiro to be the hardest? I had to stop at the horse boss guy. Pretty early on. I really liked the game just was too hard and it killed my enjoyment, and with limited gaming time I didn’t want to spend it bashing my head against a wall.

The other games are hard but somehow just don’t seem as difficult. Didn’t find myself wanting to ever quit in DS3 or BB. (Didnt play 2)

Yup, but to me it was also the most enjoyable. It was the first FromSoft game I platinumed (followed up by BB and DS3, and probably DES soon). Really, so much of it is dependent on timing and reflexes, which makes it wildly different in gameplay from any DS/DES/BB game.

I think it was just goinf to require a time investment to git gud that I wasn’t prepares to give. Oh well. Looking forward to Elden Ring, if they ever reveal it.

Warhammer III Trailer. The hype is real. They're including Cathay too. The Mortal Empires map is going to be MASSIVE.

Also, now you guys have me nostalgic for Rome Total War. Loved that game.

Fuuuuuck when this dropped I think I watched it three times before frantically scrambling for details on the game itself.

So hyped.

Can't wait. I've been deep diving into the warhammer 2 multiplayer scene, it's pretty damn awesome and so technical if you want to get good at it.

Saw it when I got home.

I REALLY want to get involved in some Warhammer tabletop.

Been playing WH2 for years. One of those games I always come back to. Can't wait.

Love that they're adding an entirely new faction like this.

The ONLY thing I'm a little down about is that in the FAQ they said there would be 6 starting factions.

Well, we know two of them are Kislev and Cathay. And if each of the Chaos gods gets there own starting faction, that makes 6.

Which means no Chaos Dwarfs :( :( :(

Chaos dwarves and ogre kingdoms will probably both get their own DLC at some point.

I still have my Tyranid army in storage... can't bring myself to sell it. Used to play 40K with my brother.

I figure as much but man I was really hoping for them at launch.

Dwarves are always my favorite race in fantasy and I generally like the bad guys.

So its everything I've ever wanted.

I'm personally so psyched for Ogre Kingdom, I can't wait to main them in multiplayer. No idea how they're going to balance an all-monstrous size army, but it should be awesome.

So Kislev and Cathay don’t have tabletop sets right? I don’t play so I dunno, I just heard that- makes me interested because that would mean they’re being designed from ground up.

Especially curious on what Cathay will look like roster wise.

One more point on corpse running - when you do get this game, look into the game mechanic of world tendency (somewhat separate from character tendency). There are certain items, events, and locations that are only available with a pure black or pure white tendency. Dying while in body form actually shifts world tendency towards black. Without giving too much away, from a completion standpoint, it's better to do a pure white character and world tendency for most of the game, collecting everything you can from an event/location/item standpoint, and then switching your character and world tendencies over to pure black in order to collect those things. Character and world tendencies both carry over across NG+, as well.
