Twitter updates from IBI Joe (formerly Burning River Baseball) on 2/18/21

Best of luck to Billy Wilson who chose to leave the Indians organization. He was a 28th round pick in 2018 and hit 10 HR and stole 14 bases in Arizona that year. He played in LC & MV in 2019.

Also to Brock Hartson, who is also retiring. He was a 2015 21st round pick who made it to Lynchburg in 2019 and pitched very well there....

I wish both Billy Wilson & Brock Hartson the best of luck in their next chapters...

In other news:

In case it was missed, Fangraphs posted its top 100 prospects per its ZiPS ratings today (Friday 2/19/21)
https://blogs.fangraphs.com/zips-2021-top-100-prospects/

If appears this is still free/ open source content.

There are a handful of CLE players on the list:
Nolan Jones at #6
Cody Morris at #37
Gabriel Arias at #39
Owne Miller at #56
George Valera at #60
Tyler Freeman at #66
Emmanuel Clase at #91
Jean Carlos Mejia at #93

Watching Owen Miller closely. He's at a prime age for a strong step forward. (At least once he starts facing live pitching again.)

For several years, ZIPS has been much higher on Jones than he's been on more traditional rankings.

And Cody Morris as our second best prospect and 37th overall?

Please, please, please.....please let some GM see this list, believe it, and covet this kid so much that he has to have him...and will trade significant production to get his hands on the 37th best prospect in baseball.

In AAA? I assume Eddie Rosario will be the LF for the Indians all season.

Antonetti said they don’t know where Rosario will play, but LF and RF are both on the table.

Jones could potentially move that needle some, time will tell.

There is a reason I keep saying “OF opposite of Rosario” instead of a specific position elsewhere on the forum...

My educated guess, Rosario is in RF and Naylor is in LF with the short porch and big wall protecting him a bit.

And yes, Jones in LF in AAA. Don’t think they put him in RF with how Huntington is laid out and how they’re going to want his learning curve to be as short as possible.
