2021 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was just going through some old notes I wrote when I watched a little South Carolina. Horn does jump out in the game because he is such a fluid athlete. He isn't short and he gets his hand on the ball in both zone and press coverage. It wasn't surprising to hear his father was Joe Horn, an underrated star back in his day.

The Browns need a youth infusion at corner. Greedy was supposed to hold down #2CB for the next half decade plus. The back end of the first round is definitely second cornerback territory.

I just see a lot of free agent #2 corners out there with a connection to either Woods or the DB coach Jeff Howard. They could potentially wait until the second or third round and sign a bridge veteran. Let's see how it all plays out.

If Jaycee Horn falls to 26, I’m not sure there’s be another guy projected in the teens who I would pick over him if they also fell.

Speed at LB = The road to defensive greatness in today's NFL.

If the Browns trust the instincts of Owusu-Koramoah, dude is absolutely going to be a target.

How do you think he compares to Isaiah Simmons from a year ago?

Probably not as athletic, which puts him a bit behind Simmons to me.

I'm honestly surprised to see him considered in there with the S types.

Might need to re-evaluate how he's going to work in the Woods D. Though obviously some teams may view him differently, but I see him as an ideal second LB in the base nickle package who can do so many good things.

JOK will probably be off the board when the Browns pick. He would be a champ in the ten yard dash. His explosion in a small space creates a lot of turnovers because he closes out of nowhere. His last play in college was a recovered inside kick, which basically sums up his best talent - just pure playmaking.

Won't be there when the Browns pick though.

If the Browns are positioning themselves to go get JJ Watt, and are able to fill some gaps defensively with lower tier rentals, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of trading up for the right defensive piece if they feel it would make an immediate impact.

Id argue that Jaelan Phillips might have the most impressive film for a DE in the entire draft, but he’s TERRIFYING from a red flag prospective.

That number one recruit tag was not a miss though. If healthy, crazy talent.

Three documented concussions and long term arm/wrist damage from a moped accident for Phillips.

Was actually retired at one point, it would be so hard to take that kind of risk within the first three rounds for me.

I agree entirely. I just watch his tape, and am completely blown away.

26. Cleveland Browns: LB Zaven Collins, Tulsa

Put simply, the Cleveland Browns need more high-quality defensive players. The gap was large in 2020 between Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward and everybody else. In this spot, they'll almost certainly think about the best front-seven defender available to either bolster the linebacker corps or complement Garrett on the edge (if not both).

Tulsa's Zaven Collins fits the profile.

The Chuck Bednarik Award winner and recipient of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy was a unanimous All-American and the AAC Defensive Player of the Year during a phenomenal truncated 2020 campaign in which he racked up four sacks, four picks, two forced fumbles and 7.5 tackles for loss in eight games.

He's 6'4", 260 pounds but looks longer and moves faster than you might expect, and he could drop this low because he wasn't bullying SEC or Big 12 players at Tulsa and doesn't suit everybody's scheme. It's also possible he'll need time to get acclimated, but the spotlight will be on Garrett, and Cleveland's linebacking group was so bad in 2020 that even an adjusting Collins should provide a tremendous boost.

Round 1 - Pick 26

Daviyon Nixon DT
IOWA • JR • 6'3" / 305 LBS

Nixon is an explosive interior defensive lineman who has a knack for finding his way into the backfield and being disruptive vs. both the pass and the run.

14 Cleveland Browns via Minnesota Vikings: DE Kwity Paye, Michigan
*MIN trades pick 14 to CLE for picks 26, 59 and a 2022 2nd round pick.

Cleveland trades up here with the Vikings to select one of the better defensive ends in this class. The Browns could use some help on the edge and Paye also offers the supreme run-stopping ability.

90 Cleveland Browns iWR Tylan Wallace Oklahoma State

92 Cleveland Browns via NO DE Ronnie Perkins Oklahoma
