Jack Leiter is probably the closest thing to big league ready that college baseball has seen in a while.

He could be pitching in the big leagues by the end of this year depending on where he lands.

Dylan Crews is likely the next college baseball "STAR" player that they really haven't had in a while.

Just unreal tools, and the loudest bat to come through the college ranks in a long time, IMO.

Not draft eligible until 2023.

The Indians will be looking for a guy just like Dylan Cozens provided he's the best player available when they pick at #'s 23, 58, and 69, respectively.. Before the college/high school baseball season gets underway.. I like getting a list of about a dozen names for at least the first overall pick for the Indains.. it doesn't need to be said that if any of this first dirty dozen is around for the Indians second overall choice.. well, that's just a bonus.. or the evaluation completed to put that guy as a potential first overall (# 23 for the tribe) was somehow flawed..

Anyway.. who are your dirty dozen?..

Bad angle to really evaluate the tunnel with but a great one to see the shape of his CB.

He will face challenges coming to the big leagues if he doesn't have something with less break in it than that. If a college hitter doesn't chase that FB, no chance a pro hitter will. So it is a 2 pitch combination where neither is close to being a strike, and that is what big league hitters are paid to do - not swing at stuff outside the zone.

It should be noted..the coming 2021 draft is noted for the number of outfield prospects..

No one asked, but he's the son of former big league left hander Al Leiter.
I saw the name before you posted this and looked myself. The fact that both Al and Mark made it to the big leagues, plus all of the other players of the 80s/90s with kids in the league is great to see.

Kinda surprised this other site (free/ open source) wasn't noted yet-- from Jeff Ellis.

Here is the CLE projection from his latest mock:

23 Cleveland Indians Edwin Arroyo, SS, Arecibo Baseball Academy (PR) Committed Florida State

Sleeper Harry Ford, C, North Cobb High School (GA) Committed Georgia Tech

I'm guessing this should be on paper a deeper class than normal cause of last season?

I would feel they should get a catcher with one of their earlier picks, but you really don't draft for position a lot in the baseball draft. I always feel it's the best player via your board that you feel you can sign and nothing else. Though in my mind if 1A was a SS and 1B was a catcher, I am going catcher. I feel we have been lacking depth in that position for awhile now and no one we got ended up being worth much (outside of Naylor and maybe Lavastida)

I like two catchers in the coming "first pick for the Indians" draft.. Harry Ford is one of them.. the other is the catcher at Luisville, Henry Davis...

spectacular example of pitch tunneling.. especially from a drop and driver..

Kumar Rocker versus Jack Leiter.. the Tigers/Pirates/Rangers/Red Sox will grab these two guys in the top four.. If the stars align for the Orioles or Royals..Leiter may drop some..but not any further..

...but that's still 15 to 20 picks before the Indians..
