Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Skip Brainless got $32 million over four years.

People insist on feeding trolls and assholes and wonder why they get bigger.

Bingo.

"I can't stand _____!!! Let me see what they said today that angers me so I can get mad, again."

During Lebron 1.0 in Cleveland, Bayless made his name by being a Lebron hater. After Lebrons game 5 vs Detroit in 2007, I tuned in to see him eat crow. He instead he claimed Lebron choked because of a few missed free throws.

At that point, I realized these guys don’t argue in good faith. Not worth my time.

I ask this out of love, but why do you keep watching him? That's how he gets paid and keeps his job. Your life will be happier if you pretend he doesn't exist.

Literally the only way we can take people like him down is by not watching him. Never. If he's on your TV, turn the channel. If you see a video recommendation with him in it on YouTube, don't click it. Every time we give him views, he wins.

Jackass ***herd brought Neil deGrasse Tyson to debunk Baker's UFO sighting.

Nothing but an elaborate troll job.

What a vindictive schmuck. A guy like that has some karmic misfortunate in his future.

Like several skeletons in his closet, losing everything type misfortune.

And it would be immensely satisfying to see Baker laughing over cocksucker's broken career and wasted body, hearing the lamentations of his women.
Why are you upset at this when it’s all just theater? He’s not actually vindictive, it’s something to generate “high-brow” trash talk on his show. It’s pro wrestling.

There are plenty of people that enjoy this kind of thing, and there are also plenty of people that don’t. But the worst thing either side can do is take his arguments genuinely and at face value.

Agreed.

I haven't watched Fox Sports for anything other than Cavaliers games in years because of him. Can't stand the guy on with Shannon Sharpe, either. Can't stand most of the talking heads on espn either, so I haven't watched any of them in a couple years, too. I scroll past anything to do with them. Don't even mention them by name.

This.

It's theater and nothing else. The outrageous takes and sharply opposing opinions (usually with two hosts) is how they generate views. I won't go so far as to say I ~like~ Cowherd but I can say now that he makes me laugh.

I go the other way on guys like Cowherd and Bayless.

The moment I realized it’s all an act and they don’t actually believe any of the nonsense they say, I actually *gained* respect for them as TV performers.

Not enough to actually watch their shows of course, but I respect the commitment to the grift.

I don't watch him. I have actually not seen his show in a decade.

I actually happened upon on it when I did a Google search to see if others had seen the same UFO over Lake Travis. Someone suggested it might the SpaceX launch.

It seems Baker is the only one to have seen it.

But, one of the top hits was Neil deGrasse Tyson talks about Baker's UFO sighting, so I thought "Oh, maybe someone else did see it, and it is a thing since such an eminent astronomer is actually talking about it."

I hit the link, it goes to YouTube, and it is a fucking troll session.

But, think about the time and effort jackass took to set this whole interview up on the account of Baker Mayfield's tweet. That goes beyond simple theater. There is malice there.

So I don't take back my words on karmic retribution. May the birds pick his bones clean. May his bones rot.

The annoying thing is Baker never said he thought it was Aliens, just he saw a flashing bright light moving. He probably saw it, and probably explainable. I love Neil deGrasse Tyson, amazing scientist, but he isnt in the government so he doesnt know what is going on in the most likely what is the light sense.

Its not really a troll job, its a giant hack job too be honest.

This is a terrible deal from the cowboys perspective. Baker and his agent will rightly use this as a potential starting point but it's such a huge over pay by the cowboys it's almost irrelevant.
Do I have this right? Our leverage is to extend early and not pay him too little on one of those rookie years, as well as get him that fat signing bonus and reduce his risk of career earnings injury in the year.

As far as the market rate goes.... yikes that Dak deal is crazy.
