Anyone else play JRPGs?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I got Persona 4 Golden on PC a couple of months ago and have already put in 60+ hours. First persona game I've ever played. Pretty fun gameplay. Storyline is meh so far but the chase for maximum efficiency keeps me going.

Persona 5 Royal is way better btw. I like Persona 4 as well, but not my favorite from the series. Have any other RPGs you been playing/like to play?

Nothing right now, but I'm excited for Cyber Punk and Baldur's Gate 3. Been getting into DnD recently actually with a group of my buddies. Pretty fun. Critical Role was my gateway drug.

Persona 3 was a better story than 4 lol. Haven't played 5 at all though.

I am not going to disagree, but if they redue 3, I hope they had a little more character development with confidents (that arent in your party). Like going from 5 then replaying 3, you see how much they could have developed more (aka to me Persona 5 is like that FF7 type, just one that defines a series and gets the highest rating possible a game could in a sense).

Anyone been playing any good JRPGs, there has been a ton of new ones out on PS4 and Switch!

New open world Pokemon looks interesting. The recent games have been stale but hoping the new direction changes things up in a good way.

I still wish the had a big open world where you choose which region to start and able to do all regions (you have to start fresh in each region then once you finish all regions, you can use all you caught for the elite competitions and the world tournament)

I've been buying JRPGs left and right for the PS4 and the switch lol

Last one I got on the switch was shining resonance refrain which wasn't bad. What else have you got recently?

Bravely Default 2, Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 4, Persona 5 Strikers, Re:Zero, Ys 9 Monstrum Nox, Atelier Ryza 1 & 2, Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE, to name a few! (I have a slight problem lol)

Man Bravely Default was so disappointing. I am hoping the sequel is better, but I have no plans to get it at this stage.

There was Bravely Default, Bravely Second and Bravely Default 2. I am betting if you didn't like the 1st one, you may not like the second. Overall they did make a slightly better game but a lot of the concepts are the same.

If you want an old school nintendo ds RPG that's so underrated then see if you can get Sands of Destruction, but to be honest the games like 150 bucks now with it's case, 50ish without.

My problem with Bravely Default was the recursion thing. It wasn't done well. 2nd world and on felt like a waste. Chrono Trigger did the same type of thing way better.

I'll look into Sands of Destruction. Sounds interesting
