Love is such a zero. I was so happy they signed him long term because after watching the Cavs completely suck after Lebron I, I thought it was important to have a quality player that could reward young developing players by knocking down open looks, making sure the offense flowed as designed and generally made development easier for those young guys by applying their above average skills - this guy doesn’t even play!!!!

I wish we could trade him for his fiance and watch her jump around on the sideline.

He played a game!

He was good and the team was obviously better with him on the court. When JA and Jr come back, cavs are a deep team again.

Spacing begets spacing. The floor was wide open with him on the floor and spacing has been the biggest issue. Now, we really need Darius to his some shots and take them too.

We’ll be a better team but not a deep team. Too many weak players on the bench.

I think we are a deep team with usable player but there are major holes in the talent level. Sexton could probably be a second best player on a good team. Depending on the make up of a team Allen, Nance, and Garland could all be #4 or #5 type starters. The rest of the roster is a bunch of #8 or #9 type rotation players. I don't know what Love is at this point since he can barely get on the floor.

Does Kevin Love have magic powers?

Suddenly Garland is willing to attack the basket and is showing more north/south in his game.
Suddenly Sexton is willing to play and move off-ball.
Okoro is playing loose.

:falloff:

They like playing for their dying father. Something to prove before he is gone.

If Love is on the floor and is cool with the shot you are taking, everyone else will follow. When he's not on the floor guys will look at the shots like, "WTF did he force that shit for?"
I crap on Kev's contract and the fact that he's basically been unavailable since the ink dried on it, but he has the pedigree does demand a respect that Larry Nance or Cedi wouldn't command. It's been visibly noticeable in Sexton the last few games.

It is literally just spacing and ball movement. Nice thing with Love and Wade is that Okoro is essentially playing Center on offense and he has lots of space to drive and shoot.

I have been saying it all year. Spacing begets spacing. When you have a guy like Love who requires you to cover the 3pts line, not only can guys drive, but they also get 3pt shots that are more open, and suddenly passing lanes are open. We so rarely get it to work on our side, we forgot how it worked. lol

It's really the #1 reason we need Windler and Garland to just put up 3's and make guys guard them.

Yep. I explained earlier in the Cedi thread why Cedi's stats have always dropped off a cliff when there was no LeBron or Love around. Look at how horrid Cedi's shooting is in the seasons where Love hasn't played much. I know Love's injuries and contract are frustrating, but it's nice to see most of the fans here realize how much his floor spacing impacts the team. Anyone here who thinks Love kills the chemistry, or that the Cavs are better without him, is being ridiculous.

It's not just spacing. Love has a gravity with these young pups as @weepinwillow mentioned

Seemingly, even more than the coaching staff

This is how Sexland and Okoro view Love when they play outside themselves with him on the court

This is how they view him when they play the game the way Papa Love wants

I think we rightfully get frustrated with Kevin Love and how much time he misses, but man it was nice to see him out there last night.

Maybe that just makes me more frustrated. . .
