I think it is possible this is the worst lineup on paper in the Francona era... Still lots of baseball to play of course.
 
He got Merrifield, after falling behind 0-2.

Perhaps, but with Luplow available in CF against southpaws there is no logical imperative for playing the defensively challenged Rosario in the lineup. There are compromises all over the place. I'm no fan of Gamel, but remain queasy at the proposition of running Amed out there in CF against RHP. I wouldn't fight it, but I'm not going to pretend it's anywhere near ideal.
 
Stick to political statements, James. Or better still, concentrate on improving your pitching.

If they want to play Gamel in CF because they don't trust Amed out there, fine I will concede that point to some degree. However if it is a Gamel/Luplow platoon going forward, bring up Daniel Johnson please..

But the real beef for me at this point is, he should not be leading off EVER. If he plays he should be batting in the bottom 3rd of the order.
