WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd say I was pretty close to right... Though the final screw job was ultimately by Jimmy, DB pulling the ref out didn't help.
I really liked the spot of Edge making Roman tap and Bryan stops it and puts him in his own submission. That shit is always cool to see

Any of you guys watch the Ripley/ Asuka match last night?

Wtf was up with that? Lack of chemistry? Miscommunication? There were 2, maybe 3 if you include Asuka's missile dropkick, botches that looks like shit.

For some reason they just don't have great chemistry. I know they're both capable of putting on excellent matches. Kind of reminds me of Stone Cold / Taker matches. Sometimes you just can't get it looking smooth with someone for whatever reason.

The WM match was good though. Maybe they just put more work in the spots and were kind of winging it on Raw

Prior to 'Mania, had they ever actually worked a match together? There's no house shows right now, so wrestlers aren't getting to practice spots in front of live crowds right now in the lead-up to PPV matches. And while I think Rhea debuted in the Mae Young Classic when Asuka was still in NXT, Asuka was a star and Rhea was basically a nobody so their paths had no reason to cross at the time.

I don't remember them ever meeting beforehand. The WM match was not bad but certainly not up to their best match standards I guess is what I meant. Probably wasn't helped by the fact people are comparing it to the Belair v. Banks match as that might've been the best match the entire weekend.

I don't think Ripley is used to the back to back nights. She definitely looked sluggish. It took her 3 tries to get the shoulder spot done right. But yeah, the match last night was a slopfest. Though the entire Raw was pretty trash. It could be the worst post Wrestlemania Raw ever. Oh sick, Viking Raiders, Charlotte Flair tossing herself into the main event picture again, another Drew vs Lashley match and no actual storyline development... Just people inserting themselves into matches. The only thing I can see them doing a decent long term tease for (but also not subtly) is Miz vs Morrison. I'm bored of Charlotte. She's supremely talented but I'd like to see them actually create a storyline as opposed to shoehorning herself into the match by beating both competitors up. Just seems like the easy way out for anything.

Not to toot her horn but Sasha routinely has the best match on the card. She's quietly developing a top teir ability to put together matches. Great in ring mind.

Yeah I honestly don't really watch Raw at all. It definitely feels like the b show compared to Smackdown. Just awful storytelling as of late unless you're a Bray Wyatt mark.

Sasha making the Bayley superfan girl cry during one of her NXT matches with Bayley is one of my favorite wrestling moments.

The segment in question starts around the 15:30 mark.

I'd put the Bray Wyatt storyline into the awful storytelling position as well. Why does it feel like he's only feuded with Randy...

Sasha oozes charisma. You can tell she puts a lot of time into her marquee matches, has a great understanding of ring psychology and has gotten better each year.

She's also a total MILF (Mandalorian I'd Like To F*ck.)

Because I'm pretty sure they've been feuding for eight months.

I thought the Fiend stuff was cool at first but I just don't understand his booking at all. He's either invincible or loses easy. That WM match was hot garbage.

I've never been impressed by Bray in the ring. He's a decent promo and obviously pours everything he has into his characters but my god are they gimmicky. Just not for me. Give me the NXT realism over that popcorn crap any day of the week.

Yeah I've heard her talk about that moment. I think it was on Stone Colds podcast on the Network. She said she planned on doing it, hoped she would be in the crowd (she always was) and the little girl didn't know about it before hand. That's 80s level heel shit. I don’t remember if she specified or not.. but I hope to God her and Bayley did something post show for the girl.
