Still, don’t take defensive metrics in the minors too seriously coach. Don’t use range factor and even be skeptical of errors. Scoring is inconsistent in the minors, field maintenance (especially in the lower levels) is inconsistent, and the talent you are throwing to in the early portion of your career usually doesn’t end up in the bigs with you.
Jones is adequate at 3B. A step up from Lonnie when he was a 3B, but a majority in the org believe his final position will be elsewhere like Lonnie. He was a SS in HS, he has a real good feel in the IF. It’s his arm that’s gotten him in the most trouble as a pro.
