They fought all the way back and he pulls this shit, not to mention his atrocious defense, didn't even bother with his man running for a 3.

I wonder why Love has just basically give up. Does he dislike the players, coaches, or Koby that much?

Love with his gear and pads really looks like a 50 year old dude getting ready to play at the Y.

It's been pretty clear since we trade for him that he doesn't like losing. Again, the organization and him thought that by signing him to a max deal, they were increasing his value to potential suitors because we were adding years to his contract. The idea was to get his money and then get moved to a contender for assets. Win/Win. We all know how that story ended.

They do need to stop calling him a 'veteran leader' though. It's a smack in the face to some of the guys that have held that mantle in the past.

It feels like it goes further than that this season though. Like he has to know that he is untradable and has been for a while.

Maybe he just doesn't see much potential to make the playoffs in the coming years. He had a very glowing assessment of KPJ on road trippin' after KPJ was traded. He just seems to completely given up and that didn't seem like it was the case last year.

I've been in meetings all day. Finished up, big smile on my face, only to check Twitter and see this shit storm brewing.

I get it. We all get it. Love's fed up. But the guy's played half a season on a losing team (that he knew would eventually be a losing team at the time he signed his contract). This is the NBA, not grade school. This is a job. You're paid to maintain your professionalism and anything else is basic malpractice.

I mean, are we serious with this:

So, this is totally appropriate behavior now? "Good for him?" The whole world's gone mad.

I’m convinced he pulls these stunts because he would actually rather sit then be an active participant in this misery he and the Cavs signed up for.

Udonis Haslem is veteran taking up a roster spot and hasn’t seen action in years, yet his presence is felt as a veteran leader in Miami. Love not so much and Rubio spelled it out 7 years ago when he questioned Love’s leadership ability. Crazy thing is, it’s disheartening to see how much of a pass he gets. The “good for him” or “save Kevin Love” rhetoric despite being an a-hole isn’t happening if anyone else does this and that has a lot to do with the great work he does for mental health outside of the game. Good for him for finding an admirable purpose outside basketball because a ton of athletes struggle with that after their playing careers are over but he’s currently paid a lot of money to play the game with professionalism win or lose.

Boy does it boil my fucking potatoes to see commentators / comments frame this as Kevin Love being fed up with losing and/or as understandable frustration. When was the last time Kevin Love was a relevant player in the league? Why does he get to enjoy some separate and distinct status at a distance from the failings of his own team? Motherfucker doesn't even play most of the time. His teammates should be frustrated with him.

Basketball has clearly been low on the list of his priorities for several years now (the thing he gets paid millions to do), he's always dogged it on the court his whole career barely jogging back on defense, and when the going gets tough, the love gets going... in the opposite direction.

I don't make light of depression and anxiety and we know wealth doesn't make those things disappear. The human experience is what it is. But if his occasional passive aggressive displays of frustration and immature tantrums are the product of his mental health problems, he needs to walk away from basketball already and get better help. Other players don't do this shit.

If the Cavs had any leadership on the team or front office this crap wouldn't happen, or be tolerated. He would not play with me, i would've been tempted to punch him in the head.

He was supposed to be the veteran leader but instead he is poisoning the younger players with his attitude and lack of production on the few games he plays... Looks like he is very frustrated and could not accept that he is not a good player anymore (although he is getting payed like a franchise player), both his body abd psych is broken to play the game at a high level.... He is untradeable and the only way for the Cavs to get him off the team is either a buyout, 60 million left after the season... Ouch.... Kevin always says the right thing but action speaks louder than words, he has had this kind of tantrums one too many
