The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Better, honestly. The first DLC had a better story than the main game imo and the second provided a nice closure to Geralt’s overall story.
The quest with his wife at the old mansion was as good as any quest I've ever played in any RPG.

I second that. One of the few games my wife will play with me. And a super fun and challenging game.
It's so much fun and it's so satisfying to beat a tough level together. I could see some relationships going sour over intense levels though.

"YOU were supposed to chop the lettuce!"

"YOU weren't cleaning the dishes fast enough!"

Happens all the time lol

I've been replaying Arkham Asylum. What a great fucking game. I told myself when I started this replay that I was going to ignore the Riddler challenges and just power through the game. I'm currently at around 75% riddles solved. I am a degenerate.

I may be inspired to replay all four games. Outside of them turning the final game into Tank Simulator for way too much of the run time, it's an incredible series. Even the unofficial Origins tells a really great Batman story, although it's buggier than the Rocksteady releases.

But man, nearly everything about Arkham Asylum is perfect. Mark Hamill as Joker. Kevin Conroy as Batman. Some great Scarecrow sequences. Fun boss fights. Graphics that still hold up, largely due to the great art design. A perfect mix of Batman kicking ass and Batman hiding in the shadows and silently taking out a room full of red shirts, plus some puzzle solving via the Riddler content. The only misstep is the final boss fight with Joker, which felt way off the mark for the character. I've long thought that this game and God of War 3 should have swapped endings, with Batman just beating the ever-loving shit out of Joker after being put through a night of hell with countless civilian and police casualties and Joker just laughing at having won in his own way.

Overall, though, this is an all-timer. I'd rate the second game just a bit above it, but both games are classics.

Started up Demon Souls, anyone play through as a magic user?
I did. Magic basically trivializes everything in that game once you get the proper gear.

Glad I picked up Outriders on sale. I don't have much time to game these days but I've been having a blast playing through it with my buddy.

I'm on the expeditions and have basically topped out for the time being while I grind for better gear/materials. I'm using a Trickster.

I’m starting to see that lol. Hasn’t trivialized the game (yet) but man, I haven’t died to a boss yet.

Those rolling skeleton fucks in 4-1 are still tough as nails.

I’m running trickster as well. Stopped playing for the past month or so, only got to like expedition 3 or 4. Game seems like it’d be way more fun with a team.

Signed up for Playstation Now a week ago, which is how I've been playing Arkham Asylum. Decided to replay Bioshock Infinite tonight. Holy shit. Game is almost ten years old but they pretty much nailed where America was going.

I have slay the spire now on my phone, PC, switch, and Xbox. Game is beyond addicting. Also Microsoft Flight Sim on the Xbox series x is an incredible achievement.

Picked up Wildermyth on Steam, as I'd read some pretty great things about it. It's a tactical RPG with some roguelike elements to it. What sets it apart is that it's procedurally generated, so it sort of mimics a tabletop game. You can customize each new character that joins your party, and characters can have rivalries, friendships, and relationships with each other.

The combat segments are basically XCOM. You're on a grid and you and the enemy take turns moving your teams.

I'm still going through the tutorial campaign, which doesn't lack in content. I've had two of my party members have a child together, and then that child grew up and joined the party himself. I've had another party member leave the party because he discovered his destiny was to become a seer, and in leaving he helped my characters avoid some catastrophes that would have happened had he stayed in the group. One of my characters was given a choice to destroy a cursed dagger or keep it. I chose to keep it, and over time the curse has transformed her into a skeleton.

It's a good game. I'm looking forward to playing more and seeing more of the content the game has to offer.

The frustrating thing is how much they manage to overstrengthen the enemies if you have even one additional teammate. There are some expeditions where getting gold is trivial, and there are others where getting gold would basically take a miracle.

That being said, still having a blast with it.

Once you level your magic up to 50, there's no point in going any further. Firestorm and Soul Ray will basically one shot most mobs at that point for at least the first couple NG runs.

There's one other enemy in that world that I hate worse - the reapers that summon ghosts. Pretty much insta-death if you can't get to them quickly enough.

How far along have you gotten now?
