2021 Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Because the Bucks excelled in that draft, Tankathon now values Bucks' #31 pick more than Suns' #29 or Jazz's #30 --> http://www.tankathon.com/power_rankings

:chuckle::chuckle:

31 typically has more value than the picks above it because it's the first pick of the second round which is usually a international player. First round picks have to be signed to the pay scale of first round picks. Second round picks can be signed with cap space or an exception. Typically 31 is where an good international player gets picked because they feel they can compete salary wise to bring him over. There is a point in the first round that the amount they can sign a player for isn't a competitive offer for certain international players so they tend to lose them to better offers from international teams.

It's why we traded our first round pick for two 2nd round picks to draft Cedi in 2017. We had to sign Cedi using part of the MLE.

[O'Connor] The Pacers, Kings, and Warriors have all had discussions about trading their respective draft picks for players who can help them win now.

League sources say the Warriors are highly active in trade talks involving [their 7th] selection.
League sources say the Kings have shopped [the 9th] pick for players who can help them win now.
League sources say the Pacers are incredibly active in trade talks involving [the 13th] pick, both for deals moving into the top 10 or out of the draft entirely.

I'm not sure what package the Raptor could come up with that would truly be worth it.

I could see us trading with Orlando but I think it would take some consensus between Orlando and the Cavs for who they would take at #3 and #5. Basically we take Mobley at #3, they would have taken Barnes at #5 regardless, and the trade depends on the guy we want to drop to #8.

Siakam & #4 for Love & #3 perhaps.

there’s a lot more options with Orlando, who is flush with picks & young players. An offer of #5 & #8 from Orlando would be tempting, with the knowledge that we could grab Suggs or Barnes at #5.

How desperate are they to "win now"?

For example, what would the Kings give us to trade Kevin Love to one of their division rivals--a move that hinders a division rival surely helps the Kings win, right? :chuckle:

Red beans & rice didn’t miss someone. Dang, Reign Man is now all you can eat Wing Man. At least The Glove is holding it together & can still what shoes he’s wearing.
Is that the frogman hiding under that shirt or is it a bad photoshop wtf

I think if we give up Mobley, we have to be sure we get the two guys that we really want at #5 and #8. I don't think this is a situation where we get Barnes and then whoever we get at #8 is just the cherry on top.

My guess is that if we give up #3 that they will want to shore up our starting unit at both SF and PF. Barnes makes sense as one of them but I'm not too sure who the other player that fits that bill would be. Jalen Johnson and Kuminga aren't great shooters. Moody and Bouknight are more shooting guard than SFs.

These teams all want the 3rd pick because they know the drop off after 3 is pretty huge.
I just saw a blurb that said Toronto is considering Barnes at 4 and would let Suggs potentially slip to 5.
So if you made the Orlando trade you wouldn't necessarily be guaranteed Barnes.
Lets just take Mobley and celebrate our good fortune.

Any educated guess as to who the Raptors would target if they swap picks with us? I don't get the impression that we've made much of an effort at keeping everyone guessing who we like at #3, so I doubt they'd give up anything substantial to trade up one spot unless they really want Mobley.

The Raptors & Magic have to give up something substantial or why would the Cavs drop down & miss out on Mobley??

And there's nothing on either of those teams that would make me want to miss out on Mobley, Green, or Cade. Hard pass.

Exactly, I asked that question because the cost for the Raptors to move up just one spot would be substantial given how often I've read about the Cavs being linked to Mobley -- I can't really see any deal with them making any sense.

As for the Magic, I would need to get more than just #5 and #8 to deal with them.

Chuma Okeke, RJ Hampton, #5 and #8 for #3, Sexton & Love? Salaries don't match obviously but it's gonna be hard to match salaries with the albatross we have around our neck.

Okeke has been injury prone but the all-around game is undeniable for anyone who has watched him play. Excellent D, beautiful stroke and another high IQ player. Hampton takes the "drive to the basket no matter what" 6th man role many want for Sexton.

Then there's a number of solid options at #5 and #8. Barnes or Suggs, maybe Kuminga or Sengun or insert name here.
