Not thrilled but I'd rather they change the name than the location.

I'm sure the Chiefs, Braves, and Blackhawks will quickly follow suit and come up with new names as well.

Yeah, right.

Safe to say I’ll be spending a good chunk of money on new merch. Good news is… girlfriend likes the new name too… so she can’t give me too much shit for spending money on new merch lol

Glad to be sooner than later...last.

I’m also mildly surprised it wasn’t nautical themed with Captains, Rubber Ducks, and Clippers.

But I get there wasn’t a great fit there maybe. I was a fan of Hammerheads and thought the logo could be pretty cool. Nautical with Steel history.

But this will do.

The A's and their dickhead owner say, "hold mah beer!"

Try following the screwjob going on in Oakland this week of you are really mad at the Guardians ownership.

Really hoping they keep the red jerseys. I really like those.

Love the name. Love the logo with the ball in the head piece (as I said in the other thread). Get a few Guardians of Baseball statues at the ballpark and we are in business.

Love being the laughing stock of the country today. Just when I thought I could start listening to sports and regular Tao radio again. Guess I’ll wait another week.

Staff Edit - Expectations were clearly explained, your complaints in the moderation forum were also addressed.

Oh man... they need replica Guardians right in front by the big Progressive Field sign facing the originals.

I think my favorite part of this is that you can't rename the team the Guardians and move out of Progressive Field, away from their namesake any time soon.

If the $225m in renovations come to fruition, reconfiguring the stadium to two decks like PNC would be unbelievably cool.

I have no idea the feasibility of something like that, but PNC Park is a treasure.

Based on the press conference, it sounds like the "Wing G" is the new primary logo.

Totally missed that it's a splitfinger pitch, which Brian Barren pointed out. Impressive how these designers squeeze so many symbols into a logo and still make it look decent.

There’s lots of iterations of a winged logo from Flash Gordon to the god Mercury. Overlooked in the buzz about the winged fastball logo is the 216 Cleveland script logo.

Is there a retractable roof put in the budget?
