I think it’ll take some time for Mobley to be really effective. I worry about his frame for the first few years. That said, I like the youth this team has. If Okoro can solidify himself as an effective 2, then all of a sudden, this team has a really nice mix of young players. They’ll need to maximize the trade value of Sexton to add another promising player. And just buy out Love to get some cap flexibility. This team might struggle but next year but good times are on the horizon.

This is a good thing for us, IMO. Enough fans will understand that he has a lot of developing to do, and he won't have to deal with the pressure of being the savior of the franchise the first year or two. Meanwhile, we should get another crack at the lotto next year.

So long as everyone in the organization is committed to developing him the right way and not forcing him into situations where the deck is stacked against him, tonight is a win-win for the Cavs.

I think Altman will have pressure put on him to get to the playoffs. Hopefully Gilbert can slow his roll and think long term. I really think the team needs a second 1st round pick next year so they can move around a bit. I think they still need a really good wing.

Honestly, Rubio might mean more wins next year than Mobley. This young core won’t be hitting their stride until their mid-20’s. I just hope we start showing signs next year and become a decent team in 2.

It's actually way better than winning the lottery. I feel like we got the best player in the draft with the highest ceiling and now he gets to come to Cleveland without the weight of "No. 1 pick" tossed onto his back.

Couldn't have worked out better. I'm so excited for some of these lineups I can barely contain myself.

Garland
Okoro
Nance
Mobley
Allen

Rubio
Sexton
Okoro
Mobley

Garland
Sexton
Mobley (see what he can do at the 3, perhaps?)

Etc

Versatility is fun!
That first 5 is lob city. This kid is a clear #1 any other year. Thanks J_J for the vids, honestly hadn't seen him play much yet, freak level skill set. Should be a fun squad this season . . .

I'd be interested to see

Rubio
Sexton

at times, with Rubio distributing, Sexton drawing a ton of attention, I think 3-5 would feast from open looks.

EDIT: For the record, I'm psyched about Mobley. A no-brainer choice. Anyone else and the FO would've been outthinking themselves.

Crazy how we never worked him out or even talked to him.

Did Mobley not talk to or work out for anyone predraft? I know reports said he didn't talk or workout with Pistons Rockets or Raptors either.

Fedor said he worked out for only the Pistons.
