that’s right, there’s no way anyone is giving us a top wing for Sexton. And we’re severely lacking wings, even KPj was more of a good wing than we have. Fortunately we still have at least one more year in the lottery to make up that deficiency. I’m perfectly happy to see this coming year be a “losing but fun” year where we experiment with a guards-bigs combo that no one has seen for a while in the NBA

one trade target we might think about is Cam Reddish, but it would be tough to get him with Sexton since the Hawks can’t afford to pay Sexton to resign

I wouldn't trade Sexton for Reddish. I like Reddish but I feel like he is someone we could get if we traded Nance or took on a bad contract from another team.

The reason why Atlanta is trying to move Reddish is because he isn't consistent but he can flash how much talent he has. They basically know he is prime to flash in the playoffs next year like he did this year and get an offer alot more than he is worth. Having a couple good playoff games makes a player a prime target in RFA when teams strike out with unrestricted free agents.

All the reaching to make player comps that never quite fit is making my head hurt.
However, I think player comps are shit in general--here's hoping Mobley sets the mold and people are hoping their next high draft pick can turn out like Mobley.
This is the best take on player comps. Seeing all the reaching going on to make player comps that are never quite accurate makes my head hurt.

Mobley has a lot of things going for him but he's also a wildcard regarding how exactly he fits into the NBA and what areas he'll develop. I just hope we don't screw him up. I wish I had more confidence in our player development ability. I do think Mobley is good enough and has enough raw talent to overcome even inept player development but I hope it doesn't come to that. I hope our organization can do right by him because if they do the sky is the limit.

Since when is Atlanta trying to move Reddish?

They were rumored to be looking for a mid 1st round pick for Reddish before the draft. They said they want to reset the contract on one of their wings and were willing to move Reddish.

I actually like Kabengele. But playing him at SF is a terrible idea.
I guess if his mobility is reduced from earlier on. He played it in the past with success before entering the league.

I think despite being inefficient as hell so far, it is probably due to him being better on ball growing up,than cutting, despite being a prototypical sized off ball guard or sf. I don't think he gets the ball in his hands as an initiator nearly enough with Young at the helm for the Hawks and if he did, he would be better as far as efficiency. I would easily trade the Cavs 22 first with lottery protections for him today unless he can't clear a physical or mental eval

From The Athletic:

Bickerstaff had Mobley as his top choice throughout the draft process.

“It’s the combination of size and skill,” Bickerstaff said. “You just don’t see that regularly. When you again put a guy in a 7-foot frame — and one, I love just watching the passes that he makes. Like when he puts the ball on the floor, again, most typical 7-footers, they see the floor and they see the rim. And when I watched him play, when he put the ball on the floor, he saw where the defense was first and how that created open areas for his teammates. That’s just rare for a guy his size and his age to be able to do those things.

“And then, I’ll go back to the old school — like, he plays defense. He takes pride in defending and getting stops and shutting people down. So you mixed it all together, and that’s my kind of guy.”

I do think he would be a good pairing with Sexton. I'm not sure I'd give up our 2022 pick for him but if Nance is worth what he is rumored to be, I would trade Nance for Reddish plus another asset. Most likely that would be a 3 way deal.

He fits good with Sexton????? errrr ok. He would fit anywhere if you want to try and long wing. Sexton for Reddish isn't a bad deal if you can get another piece.

Reddish is terrible. He’s been bad 2 years in the pros and was bad in college too. Why are you guys getting fooled by a 4 game sample in the playoffs where he shot 9-14 from three when he’s shooting 30.9% for his career? I’d give up a second round pick for him just to take a flier and people in here are talking about exchanging Sexton for Reddish. Wtf?
