Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The short-term value of having a couple of players like Rubio and Green far outweighs the long-term value of paying Bonga or some other unproven wing with that MLE $.

It's okay to have 20% of the roster above the legal drinking age. Hell, Delly and Kevin were supposed to be these guys last season except Rubio and Green are actually good...

There aren't any young high-upside wings we can sign with that $ anyways. It's not like we got an extra draft pick.

Rubio excites me, he is a proven leader and has helped other players in the past. Green is a winner for sure, but not sure he has ever been a locker room leader.

I wouldnt hate Green, solid vet, and as long as its 2 years or shorter I am good.

Leader or not, he hasn't lost a playoff series since 2018. 21 playoff series wins since 2012 and 3 titles. We could use that!

I think given the majority of free agents unsigned are not the type the Cavs need, and most that are ,remain unsigned due to wanting to be paid more than teams think they are worth. Sirvydis makes a lot of sense given Detroit would not pay to keep him on the bench what the Cavs could pay to actually play the man unless he doesn't want to play in CLE. But Detroit is pretty close so the relocation would be easy.

He couldn't get 200 minutes on the worst team in the league last year. Hard pass unless it's a minimum or two-way. We have 9 mil to spend, however.

You have to bring in the right Vet, my fear is that Vet will take our offer and say the right thing , but will be looking for the first buyout opportunity, and to assume we will be able to just flip him , is just guessing ……I‘m not saying Green would be like that, but why would a 34 year old multiple finalist final would want to come here, unless we’re giving him the most money……..

Rubio is different to me , first of all we traded for him, and I feel he would play his role just fine……He on the last year of his contract, and probably wants to look good for his next contract ……

It is crazy that Green is this old ass over the hill guy. He was drafted onto that 2009-10 team and was a rook dancing while Lebron was in his prime.

Now Lebron is still pretty damn good while Danny needs to take games off. It is just crazy. I knew Danny was a 4 year guy, but it is hard to believe he is just 2 years younger than Lebron

He was stuck behind a lot of better players for starters lol but yeah nobody is suggesting using more than part of the MLE here.
Sirvydis is exactly the kind of sf the Cavs need off the bench that is a far more reliable catch and shoot threat than Osman or Okoro have been. I would not think the lack of "earning" minutes is relevant here where the Cavs lack the depth Detroit had and now has even more of.
I mean I guess they can trade for PWill from CHI who is probably available with the win now direction they are going.
Nance and the Rockets 22 2nd for Williams and Dosumnu is certainly more appealing than signing Sirvydis lol
The problem is the odds it happens are nill

I think the reasonable expectation after bringing in Green, Rubio and Mobley is that we're at least a play-in team. If he's looking for a buyout halfway through year one I'd be surprised.

The pitch probably starts with the fact we're one of the better teams left that can offer him the full MLE and that he'd be a more important rotation piece for us than New Orleans or Charlotte. Minnesota is an interesting fit if they are after him.

I've only seen Green linked to the Cavs, Lakers, Celtics and Pelicans. Only Griff can offer him what we can out of those and he'd probably come off the bench there.

It is one thing to bring in via trade a legit older pg to help run the team better than Garland has, it is another thing to expect a 34 year old glue guy chasing rings to sign with the Cavs to be a mentor.
Cavs sign Danny Green they have more problems than it looks like in that front office because it would take the full MLE.

We wouldn’t be a finals contender but I see no reason we can’t be a very competitive team with his help. I think you’re over doing the mentor thing he literally would just have to do his thing and lead by example.

If he checked out for some reason after signing the deal I’d eat crow but it doesn’t stop it from being the best card to play at this point.

If you think the MLE is too valuable to spend on Danny Green, who else do you suggest?

Please don’t suggest any Bonga, Louzada, Siryvidas types. This is a different tier of player.

The dream is dead. Carry on :(

They have a lot of guys like Stevens and Thomas. I think they are going to just evaluate and try to make trades in season
