2021 Browns Training Camp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My son is moving into his college dorm tomorrow, just gathering a few last minute things. Some extra cash from his part time job has gone to Sunday Ticket U and … :chuckle:

I think Vee is hitting the nail on the head. We ran it about as much as you could possibly hope for without the defense totally keying in on it.

In the flow of the game, they made a lot of sense. I saw a stat elsewhere that Chubb faced more 8 man boxes than any other running back. So play-action follows as a counter-attack.

There are new rules in place for low blocks which impact the offense heavily as well. I bring it up because rollouts and outside zone runs will be heavily impacted.

For offensive linemen, they cannot use crackback blocks or low blocks in outside zone run plays. The shortcut for a long time on pulling linemen was to go low on a cornerback or quicker safety. Nobody wants to see a great playaction rollout completion turn into a cut block penalty.

The premium on receivers who block well also just went up with this new rule change. Higgins is a guy who often just went low against a corner to take him out. DPJ and Landry, on the other hand, had "stalk blocks" which made Baldy breakdowns for correct form.

Only mistake was not getting all color rush jerseys, those jerseys are fire

So many good nuggets in here. One Anthony Walker was back.

Two, my boy Mack Wilson is continuing to look good, he might actually make the team, fantastic news for us fans

3, Clowney and Garett did not practice, Clowney was just a day off, but Porter Gustin and Cameron Malveaux took their places...maybe a slight downgrade? lol

4. Stefanski giving other coaches besides AVP to call preseason games or parts of games to help the coaches develop? Wonder why Stefanski was able to get such a good coaching staff? Maybe not throwing your assistants under the bus and actually helping them develop will give you a steady supply of very good assistant coaches.

The third bulleted point will have some folks excited.

You know I am one of them, my man crush can continue...and no, it has never been how Mack plays on the field.

DT cuts will be interesting. Togiai may not make it?

JOK down at third string, maybe just because rookies have been getting put low on principle? Could be the missed time due to COVID?

Crazy to see Mack Wilson so high, and ahead of Malcolm Smith. Does Smith get cut?

I am also interested to see who gets cut on the offensive line.

Overall, love this roster and we have quite a lot of depth.

I'd be absolutely shocked it Togiai gets cut. I think his talent is clear and I haven't heard anything negative about him.

JOK should start in a limited role. Let him focus on a limited package or playbook, and as he excels at those things, add more to his plate. That's how you develop someone and build their confidence at the next level.

Malcolm Smith could get cut. I think Mack Wilson is likely to get cut before Smith.

Offensive line is definitely an area of interest.

You nailed it on the depth and this roster. Remove QB and coaching from the equation and we have the number one team in the NFL.

I don't take this too seriously. Rookies are listed low... I wonder why? This happens every year. Let's see if talent stays on the bench once games count.

Yeah, the rookies are low because we have actual good veteran NFL players on the roster already. Instead of tossing most of them right into the fire, they get to learn and develop.

Newsome vs Greedy battle will be interesting.

JOK absolutely behind right now because of Covid protocol.

Interesting to see Mack and Taki-squared both with the 1's, but you can basically through Hill in as a 1 and remove one of the outside backs to a 2. We will be in a dime as much as anything

I am also looking to see if we keep D'earnest and Felton. WR is pretty deep too so its not just as easy as moving him to WR. But I think Felton is huge on special teams, along with Schwartz.
