WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I heard she was a close contact to Covid and out for 10 days.
Not sure when the 10 started, but it’s hard to tell what rules they have as no one knows which way is up or down in regards to this damn virus.
I'm reading up on this stuff and it seems highly speculative at the moment. If it's true, hope Banks is doing okay, especially after learning about Keith Lee's near death experience with covid. This is not a virus to underestimate.

I will say the WWE doesn't seem too open about their covid protocols in regards to performers.

I'm so disappointed that Page vs Omega doesn't culminate at All Out. That card is looking so good but just missing that main event match.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Christian but I don't think he is the ideal main event guy for a PPV like All Out, which I think is there biggest event.

Looks like Adam Cole is probably done in WWE. There's still a chance he strikes a deal but it appears less likely as time goes on.

The top of the card is incredibly crowded already in AEW. I wouldn't mind if they expanded the amount of ppvs in a year and possibly turn Rampage into a 2 hour show. Go head to head with Smackdown for an hour.

Cole's a no-brainer AEW signing regardless. There's just too much history there between him and the elite.

I am worried about the main event scene getting crowded but the nice thing is that guys like Punk and Black don't necessarily need to be in the title picture regularly to get the most out of them. You can have a main event angle that relies much more on storytelling than just title chasing (MJF / Jericho feud for example) and still be able to feature your top guys in top spots.

I do worry that the longer title reign booking that TK prefers might have to change up a bit. Long title reigns work when you've established a dominant guy but then you go down the likely line of guys who you assume will be in the title picture in the future (Page, MJF, Pac just to name immediate guys) - I guess it's a promoter's dream and a nightmare scenario all at once. There certainly seems like there's a lot of mouths deserving to be fed but by all accounts, it sounds like politics are way less toxic in AEW - a lot more encouraging and less worried about your spot, brother. Only time will tell I guess.

Definitely but those long, drawn out feuds like Jericho/MJF eat up limited television time. For a show that is struggling to give time to women's wrestling it's hard to justify an expansion on those kind of feuds without adding an extra hour television. Also tag teams are a big part of the show too.

Just think about the amount of guys that should hold the AEW championship at some point in the near future.

Miro, Cody, Page, Black, Darby, MJF, possibly Punk, PAC, Bryan, and Andrade(once he gets it together), then guys that may get a second run: Omega and Moxley. Add Adam Cole to this list to top it off.

There is also a bunch of younger guys with a ton of potential who deserve a run at the TNT championship or FTW championship too.

Too many mouths to feed right now, but I think four hours of television will make it easier to give people time to flesh out of stories then cycle in and out talent to keep things fresh.

Four hours of TV and perhaps adding another singles belt. I know that is always a polarizing choice but unless they start to establish the FTW as a defendable and desirable belt (which has been rumored for awhile), there is certainly an opportunity for a belt to be added, even if it's a Rampage-specific title.

I could picture a hardcore championship or the FTW belt being that. They may need a secondary tag belt or trios belt since they have so many tag teams and factions.

I’ve long wondered why WWE didn’t do the smart thing and have one show have tag team belts and the other a trios championship. It would help distinguish their shows from each other and also make the PPVs more exciting.

Simple answer is Vince. A trios title wouldn't work out judging by how they use tag teams. It's a miracle they were able to get women's tag team belts.

I’ve never once been interested in a WWE main roster women’s tag match, so they probably could have done without those given how shallow their women’s divisions are.

If they took the time to build up the women's roster and give them more time as opposed to featuring garbage lower midcard talent in comedy roles then maybe it would have been worth it to have tag belts. They definitely had enough talent to make an incredibly deep roster if they put in the effort
