2:08 - Hill sits right in Wards soft ass zone for a 20+ reception.

3:50 - Ward is literally matched up 1v1 against Hill in the slot - he gets torched for 15 yards on 3rd and 7. Again... giving insane amounts of cushion.

5:50 - probably not his fault, but Ward is 15 yards off the line in zone and Hill just slides right in front of him and the LB for an easy 12 yard gain.

8:15 - Ward matched up 1 on 1 on a 3rd & 3, Hill burns him for 7 on a curl route... once again SOFT AS FUCK IN COVERAGE.


Most of the rest of Hill's chunk yardage came against zone coverage in front of Newsome or another DB...

Still, this wasn't GREAT play from our best CB. He gave up 50-60 yards on about 6 targets to the area.

Think you are extremely off base on the 2:08 and 8:15 highlights.

Rewatch the 2:08 one. It's zone coverage and Ward's assignment becomes Kelce, who is well covered. I think the coverage on the curl is fine and just very well executed by the offsense.

Wouldn't say Ward played great but I think he was fine

First, the answer is no.

Second, Carr and Gruden are a horrible fit. Mariotta is a much better fit to capitalize on all of the shot gun runs that Gruden likes.

Carr and Washington- that’s my dream fit for him.

No. Early on I was watching that game and thinking “man, this is night and day versus watching the Chiefs and Browns.”

And also thinking “Baker is a step ahead of Carr when it used to be closer”
 
I was not particularly impressed with Carr at all last night. Let alone to the point of wondering if he's better than Baker. I'd take Baker 10x out of 10 over Carr...but Carr is adequate. Probably a middle of the road starter.

Carr also had that weird thing going on last night where all his passes seemed high and made life difficult for his pass catchers. Not sure if he was just a little off or if that's a consistent issue with him. Frustrating to watch and could put his guys in vulnerable spots.

What I did come away wondering was how filthy this offense would look with Darren Waller at TE.
