It's interesting to take another close look at Mahomes' 75yd TD pass to Hill. In the rush to anoint Mahomes in the broadcast and subsequently it's actually been lost that it was a completely dreadful pass which, rather than spiralling towards its target just floated high, short and hapless like the lamest duck you'll see all season. It didn't even go end-over-end like a punt but rotated around the ball's longitudinal axis like the funkiest onside kick anyone could ever produce by design. Probably the only way it could have been completed but something a deep safety will probably never encounter again in a whole career. On the other side Baker's intended heave out-of-bounds lands exactly in the numbers of the KC DB. Talk about fluke-magins.Baker played a great 50 minutes, I'll give you that, but if Baker had an MVP performance, what did Mahomes have?

Yeah. I was impressed with Mahomes (hommes) ability to avoid pressure and get rid of the ball on that play. I was also impressed with Johnsons coverage on Hill. The pass was short and off target and Johnson didn't find the ball in the air. He kept his body on Hill and Hill adjusted to the shit pass. It's interesting to take another close look at Mahomes' 75yd TD pass to Hill. Mayfield isn’t necessarily trying to reset the market. While Mahomes signed a 10-year, $450 million pact and Allen landed a six-year, $258 million deal, Mayfield seems to prefer something shorter, perhaps four years on top of his fifth-year option in 2022. That would put him in position to negotiate his next deal in his early 30s when he’d still be in the prime of his career.
Mayfield has not expressed his desired financial terms to the Browns, as they could change based on the timing of the negotiations. On the other side, it’s too early to know how much the Browns would be willing to pay, as they’re still eying Mayfield’s performance.

I don't understand the people who decide what happened contrary to what the QB said. Baker said he was trying to throw the ball out of bounds. Tony Romo said it on the broadcast.
If Baker was trying to force it I don't doubt he would have said, "I tried to force it, I need to get better in that area." It's just kinda weird to me to be like, "No ur lying u werent trying to throw it away u were forcing it!!1"
4 years seems more like a typical extention. If he signs it before next year, that means he's under contract for 5 years.Interesting excerpt here from an article ($) by Jeff Howe on The Athletic this morning. First I've seen that Mayfield and his camp prefer the idea of a short term extension:
Baker Mayfield’s contract talks. Stephon Gilmore as a trade chip? What I’m hearing around the NFL
Mayfield and the Browns remain in a holding pattern with his contract extension. So far, each side has been comfortable with that approach.theathletic.com
