2021 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@petes999 @BimboColesHair and anyone else who may know...

How is Mason Hickman doing? I see his stats, they aren't anything to write home about, but scouting reports when drafted said he needed to add velocity and whatnot to his game...

Also how good do they feel Davenport is? He really is the only pitcher outside of Dion Will that has seen some A ball action from this draft class...

These two are under the radar right now, but Hickman was our 5th round pick in 2020 and is at high A while Davenport was just drafted in the 6th round and had some starts at low A while the top of the class guys haven't really pitched at all from my knowledge...

Aiken is technically still in the organization...
And Appel has been pitching for the Phillies org this year - poor results in AA/AAA.

But technical point for sportscoach has been awarded.

I had missed the addition of Tena…very nice!
Just happened on Monday/ earlier today..
With the season ending for Lake County, it makes sense...

One of the relievers moved up as well: LHP Tim Herrin

OFer Micah Pries added as well and batting 9th today.

Akron up 2-1 on a 2 run homer from Lavastida.

Battenfield is CRUISING despite 1 mistake. 5IP 1H 1ER/R 0BB 9K - 1HR 65 pitches 44 strikes.

Jose Fermin has also played extremely well in the final weeks of the season. Won't get rostered but should be a AAA'er for some team next year.

UPDATE. Battenfield is likely done for the night - but maybe not. Threw a 1 hitter, if he doesn't give up that solo homer - he is perfect!

Akron up 5-1. Battenfield goes 7IP 1H 1ER 0BB 10K 1HR 90 Pitches 61 Strikes

How's Kwan's defense? He seems like a rare kind of player in the org with just how much contact he makes. I know he's older and all but I'd hate to see him Rule 5ed.

His quick numbers say he is better than average... Most of his innings have been in CF, but in both corners his numbers have been a plus in short time..

Kwan <== AAAA or, at best, 4th OF'er on a second division team..

Kwan looks like a baseball player with the eye test... Puts up good at bats, good contact numbers etc. There is nothing flashy in his game, but no holes either, hence why I think he will be an everyday MLB player.

Yeah I am thinking his upside can be a Brett Gardner of a few years ago kind of player, which certainly doesn't get people excited but wins baseball games.
