Ex Indians update

It would be accurate to do.
The issues of Perez staying healthy and problems having a solid backup catcher were part of the reason Hedges was acquired..

No question Leon gave his best, but he realized his game was slipping so he tried to steal reaction moments here & there to help him keep up. Unfortunately it resulted in more catcher interference calls in a few weeks then Roberto Perez has had in his entire CLE career..
Yeah, the whole Sandy Leon thing was soaked in sarcasm. I was pissed when they let Haase walk and brought on Leon and Coach is poking fun at me.

Well Eddie Robinson died at 100....last of the '48 team is gone

Very complicated person to finish on seeing how he treated Doby, probably the major reason we weren't rushing him out there in '16 during the world series run

Certainly seems like he bettered himself as time went on, but he and Fleming especially were real pieces of shit at the time

I'd be interested in some comment about Frankie Lindor's career path at this point. two straight sub par years for him, 2020 was explained away as COVID YEAR, fair enough, but 2021 was a step below that. I'm not even asking whether the Mets will get their $340m out of him, just a higher view of is he declining already, or is this an aberration?

I just dont know if he is mentally 100% committed at times to the game like he was when he was younger. He admitted he wasn't in 20 and 21 wasn't a good year. He needs to step up his game in 22 otherwise he will go down as one of the worst MLB contracts in history of the game...

He'll almost always be a "big name", and his contract in NY will guarantee that. It is not as if he is without skills, but at this point, he should probably be viewed as an above average player, who you are hoping can get back to a few .800 OPS seasons (he is still in "prime years" in regard to age) rather than a superstar. I do not have a comment as to his defense (not seem him much), but I am assuming him being above average there is still the reality.

Mets have 9 more years with him. Almost all of the time ten year contracts are bad for the team
Cleve had Frankie for the best years of his career

Like me and my ex wife, once they get old and useless, time to find the next.

Jordan Luplow hit a grand slam in the first inning of Game 2 of the ALDS against Boston. Happy for Loop, but also bullish on Peyton Battenfield.

yeah..he's had an amazing resurrgence.. nice to see.. sorry it wasn't with Cleveland..
He was coming around before he got hurt in Cleveland... I expected him to play well once healthy for Atlanta. The Braves lost nothing in the deal honestly so it was a low risk move on their part...
