really can't wait for the game tonight. Hopefully he kills it so the Houston Rockets fans don't gain any Green momentum. Need to pounce on them.

LMAO...i just dont care about that like you do, hilarious. Mobley is who i wanted, I thought he would be great, best in the draft and this was a very strong draft. So far, Mobley has actually been better than i thought.

Some people read books before bed, some masturbate.... I browse clutchfans on my phone.

I mean, Gobert who can stay with guards???? WTF

Here is the thing though, because Mobley plays PF, when the quicker guards get by him, and they can get by anyone, we typically have a center in Allen back to defend. I want to keep Mobley at pf personally.

Don't see a Gobert at all. Gobert can barely move on the perimeter and his weakside help is nowhere as good as Mobley. He at his best when he defends head on. Mobley is a roamer.
He reminds me a little of a young Serge Ibaka - great shot blocker from the weakside. He's not as explosive or strong as Serge, but he's longer and better at defending in space.

Young Garnett with better range on his jumper.
I was just talking defensive presence, especially the knack to block shots from the weakside. That's where the similarities between Ibaka and Mobley end. There is definitely some Garnett like ability there. If Mobley was as nasty and relentless as KG, he could be an all-time great.

So I’m not a draft guru by any means (barely a fan of college sports), but I spent more time watching college game film last year than any prior years combined. Why? Because I knew the top of that draft was stacked with studs and saw last years draft as the Cavs best realistic chance to draft a franchise player in this particular rebuild. By the time the draft rolled around, my opinion was:
Tier 1 - Mobley
Tier 2 - Jalen Green
Tier 3 - Barnes/Cade/Suggs

Now I’m not rehashing this to pat myself on the back. My scouting is below amateur status especially in comparison to the great draft posters we have on this site (shout out to @RchfldCavRaised and @Nathan S for their contributions in the 2021 draft thread).

The reason I’m re-hashing is to illustrate this point: even as someone who had Mobley a tier above everyone else in a draft full of studs, I didn’t think he’d be THIS dominant defensively THIS quick. I thought he’d open some eyes with many expecting a James Wiseman level curve, but I had no idea he’d pick up NBA defense and execute it at an elite level by game 3 of his first season. I didn’t think he’d be able to run the top of the zone and look like prime KG doing it in his first back to back game. I didn’t think the form of his jumper would look this smooth this early. Sure, the release is slow, but how many defenders will really be able to challenge that shot at that high release point? I knew he had great bball IQ…but not like this.

We got a special one y’all. I’m excited for the ride. Choo Choooooooo

Young Garnett with better range on his jumper.

I keep thinking Camby, but Camby was a good bit older than Mobley and Garnett when they entered into the league. Mobley doesn't quite have the open aggressiveness of Garnett, but he does seem a lot smoother to me. Garnett always looked a spazzy to me when he was younger.

Great players with which to be compared either way.
