2022 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like Jabari too. Only because he has a Basketball father. It hasn’t hurt the Cavs yet. I’ll have to watch him some more though.

Do the DWI hurt Blanchero? Can he fall to the Cavs in the second round? LOL

I've added another wing to follow this coming NCAA season. Bennedict Mathurin a Canadian 6'-7" SG/Wing who plays for Arizona. He hasn't gotten a ton of pub as Jaden Ivey has gotten most of the attention as the best returning sophomore but Mathurin also played really well for Canada's U19 team this past summer. Kid can shoot the 3 and also really good at generating FT attempts. He's another one that could be available in that 11-16 range assuming that's where the Cavs end up drafting next June.

Maybe I just picked the wrong game to watch Baldwin Jr, but his entire team (him included) was overmatched against Florida in that second half and he showed no fire/hustle. Probably just going to wipe the slate clean and try to get a look at him on their next big game.
Rough game for Baldwin as he looked slow and, for a guy who is supposed to be a shooter, had some real bad misses:

After a number of lackluster performances, AJ Griffin broke out with 18 points on 4/6 from 3 point range last night:

Still, his injury history has to concern teams.

Yeah, I turned it off after a few minutes of watching. Looked like he was struggling to compete against the level of athleticism he was facing, he was completely sped up and uncomfortable. Probably right to give him a pass however when his entire team struggled to do anything against a good college D.

Some mocks already have him as a lotto pick.

Interesting. Their mocks are always a little different and I see they also have Christie, Minott, Mathurin, & Walker in the lottery when most others have them as late first round picks.

Although we obviously have the huge need at SF/wing, with Sexton's future now so uncertain and Okoro being so broken offensively, we have to acknowledge that a long term need at SG is there just as much.

We have great reason to believe we are set at PG and in the front court. Three weeks ago I would have said SF/big Wing No Matter What!

But I'm coming around to it being more of a combination of BPA at SG and SF filtered through how that player fits with Mobley.

Not saying that player is Ivey, who I have literally never see one second of game play of, but this tweet just reminded me that SG is just as much a need as SF

@RchfldCavRaised I know you were watching your Heels, what did you think of Ivey. I was thinking he was over rated, still needs work on that shot, but I have watched every minute of the kid and he can be something special at the NBA level.

What I love about Ivey is he does have good vision although he takes the occasional bad shot from deep....but he is a willing and good defender. At a legit 6'4" (maybe 6'5"), he is a true SG that cand d up 1-3/ Still need a SF if we pick him, but if available he would be hard to pass up on.

Your opinion Rch?

Definitely not the undersized shooting guard I had read about. Long arms and legs, athletic body. Could be still growing. Great all around game and I’d take him for sure but some on here may be against him for the shooting.

I agree that SG/SF is the need, but im hoping that guy is 6'8+", in the Paul George mold, instead of the 6'5" Ivey mold. I'm not turning my nose up at someone 6'5" if they're the best fit on the board, but if all things are equal, I'm going with the height.
