Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Myers ....At the moment.........if there is an opening.
There will be, probably more than one... the only question remains is why are there opening(s)..

Please help me out here - why doesn't Tobias Myers have to be added to the 40 man? Or is he eligible and we are risking him being plucked in the R5?

Thanks I guess I just missed that news, didn't realize he got added on the same day.

We also gave nothing up to get him, so its not like we would have risked anything except not keeping Cantillo...

Basically, it was Caminero and Cantillo for Myers....but if nobody picks off Cantillo, its not a bad deal.

Even if Cantillo doesn't get picked, we lost JC Mejia, who's roster spot went to Myers, so it's Mejia/Caminero for Myers

Hopefully look foolish but did not like the trade for Tobias Myers. Lose our top prospect in DSL Junior Caminero and likely Cantillo. ... He's a nice addition yes. Wonder if they have a trade planned.

There are many players that do well in the DSL only to fall flat once they get stateside.
Anyone else recall Dorsyss Paulino???

If Junior Caminero is in the small group and excels all the way to the majors after a good performance in the DSL then kudos to him. We are 3+ seasons away from knowing 1 way or the other.

I never worry about what some kid might do in five years....and certainly not when we are in a window of contention.

When it comes to Caminero, we are not talking about a bird in a bush. We are talking about a bird in a jungle a hemisphere away.

I have no issue with the trade at all, just the comment a specific poster made that we "gave nothing up to get him". We gave our best hitting prospect (likely best overall) in the DSL..

No need to throw out names like Paulino here, because that will always cut both ways -see Rocchio.. Where else are they going to start their MLB journeys?

He maybe a stud or a clunker in a few years, but he is currently a legit prospect and that seemed to be getting lost in the shuffle IMO.

But this is how the Rays operate, hence why they have been so successful... They trade depth pieces constantly for lotto ticket young players over and over...
